Most likely is advertisers pulled out of Carlson's show. Despite his huge numbers, the show was filled with Mike Lindell, Relief Factor, Balance of Nature ads and Fox Nation promos. The lefties targeted the big advertisers since 2017. They've used that tactic against all effective right wing broadcasters and they got traction with Carlson. In the last few days I heard or read that up to 40 advertisers have returned to the 8ET Fox News slot. I've not seen that anywhere else, can't attest to that as I'm not watching Fox News and have to wonder why these advertisers would come back with the huge loss of viewership. But yeah, loss of advertisers would seem to be the main reason Carlson is gone. Set the controls for the heart of the Sun.

The threat of Tucker + Twitter to the progressive media oligopoly has got them scared By Thomas Lifson It’s becoming a lot of fun to watch the propaganda organs react to the recently announced plan of Tucker Carlson to use the recently liberated Twitter as his future platform, post-Fox. The combination of Elon Musk, who has become a free speech disciple, and is not-so-incidentally one of the world’s richest people and widely admired by the public for his pioneering entrepreneurship, with Tucker Carlson, who already was the most important political commentator in America, has got them scared. NBC News dug up Brian Stelter, the recently-fired CNN commentator, to help its own Tom Costello bemoan the fact that nobody s going to provide censorship. It’s going to be a “free for all” -- which is the last thing that propaganda media want to see. They actually said that free is bad (transcript, screengrab, and video via Grabien): COSTELLO: “OK. Well listen, Twitter was already under fire from misinformation, disinformation, all out lies —“ STELTER: “Right.” COSTELLO: “— anti-Semitism, racism, before Elon Musk took over and now it’s gotten kind of crazy, right, seemingly unmoored, if you will. Will anybody be able to police what Carlson says or is this the point? It’s just a free for all.” STELTER: “I think this is the point. It is a free for all. That’s what Elon Musk wants to provide. This move by Tucker may cement the idea of Twitter as a right-wing website.” The characteristic response of the tech oligopolists (minus Musk’s Twitter), all-in with the propaganda media for control to the public’s information flow, has been to starve conservative outlets of revenue. They do this with advertiser boycotts and sheer monopolization of online advertising revenues by Google and Facebook parent Meta. But will this work with Tucker on Twitter? Teri Christoph, writing at Red State, is optimistic, and runs some numbers about how well Tucker may be able to generate revenue there: He’ll make much, much more by taking his show to Twitter, which opens up multiple revenue streams for him. It’s a model that could easily be replicated by others, with top cover being provided by Elon Musk himself. And it’s a model that would be a reckoning for the establishment media, with all-important ad dollars leaving cable and broadcast news (does that even still exist?) and migrating to independent platforms and creators. First, there are sponsorships. If we use the CPM (cost per one thousand) model, Tucker could easily command a best-in-class rate of $40 from advertisers (and there are plenty looking to support free speech!). That’s $40 for every one thousand listens, views, or downloads. We know that his two recent Twitter videos garnered millions of views and his show averaged around three million viewers, so we can safely estimate a Twitter viewership of at least two million (and that’s probably low). That means Tucker could charge $80,000 for each ad he reads during the show. And he would likely do at least three ads per show, and possibly more, bringing the daily total to $240,000. You can see how he could quickly and easily surpass his Fox News earnings just on sponsorships. (snip) Then there are paid Twitter subscriptions. In a tweet on Tuesday evening, Elon Musk revealed what the path forward looks like for creators like Tucker: I also want to be clear that we have not signed a deal of any kind whatsoever. Tucker is subject to the same rules & rewards of all content creators. Rewards means subscriptions and advertising revenue share (coming soon), which is a function of how many people subscribe and the advertising views associated with the content. I hope that many others, particularly from the left, also choose to be content creators on this platform. It has been estimated that Tucker could make around $36 million per year if he’s able to convert one-quarter of his Fox audience into paying members. Cha-ching. I have no way of knowing if the $40 CPM figure is realistic, since American Thinker does not monetize videos, but even if these estimates are off by 50%, the total of $76 million cut in half -- $38 million a year -- is still a lot of money for Tucker, almost double what he was earning at Fox News. If Tucker successfully moves to Twitter, there is every reason for other popular figures to consider doing so, too. Especially if Twitter finds a way to make its platform easily accessible on home televisions, not just computer screens. Streaming video content via Roku boxes and the like doesn’t sound like a difficult transition. Don’t forget that just about everyone in the industry realizes that streaming is replacing cable and satellite distribution of video content. That’s why Fox News invested so heavily in the Fox Nation streaming service, endlessly promoting it. Unfortunately for these plans, Tucker Carlson was the dominant showcase provider of content to Fox Nation. They thought that he was the key to getting people to subscribe. And now he has the opportunity to make that assumption work for himself – at their expense. The irony is delightful. https://www.americanthinker.co...got_them_scared.html "Some things are apparent. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

Turmoil and change in the air at FOX News By Peter Barry Chowka In a “blockbuster” exclusive on Wednesday, Matt Drudge blasted his latest scoop, citing a single anonymous source, that FOX News was about to upend its primetime schedule that has been, to some extent, limping since the forced departure of its #1 host Tucker Carlson over three weeks ago. Drudge’s prediction was that the channel’s new schedule would soon see the venerable host Sean Hannity moving from 9 PM to 8 PM (Tucker’s old slot), Jesse Watters moving from 7 to 9, and Greg Gutfeld’s late-night comedy show Gutfeld! moving back an hour to 10 PM. (All times ET.) Drudge grabbed major media attention with his three-sentence-long report, but his prediction was not confirmed by FOX News’s PR department. There were no updates to Drudge’s scoop yesterday – either from Matt Drudge himself or the MSM outlets, mostly on the left, that jumped to run with the story on Wednesday. One wonders if Drudge, who is usually correct in his scoops, may have gotten this one wrong. But now, according to an exclusive published here today, there is the first evidence that he may have been onto something. Yesterday, this writer was told by a trusted industry insider with knowledge of Sean Hannity's thinking that “believe it or not we have not had official notice yet.” Yet? This telling comment suggests that official notice of the schedule change is or at least may be expected by Hannity and his crew. Ads by topple Meanwhile, it stands to reason that Hannity and his team would welcome a switch from their 9-10 PM ET slot – which they have held since the fall of 2017 – to an hour earlier. Hannity hosts his daily national radio show from 3-6 PM ET and then prepares for his FOX News primetime show. In recent weeks, he has moved the production of the FOX program several nights a week from his home studio in the NYC suburbs to FOX News headquarters in midtown Manhattan – which entails an extra hour after the show ends to commute back to his home. Fair and objective reporting about the potential schedule changes to the nation’s #1 cable news channel (yes, it has held onto that title in the ratings even since the departure of Carlson) is not “inside baseball.” (Link to latest Nielsen Research cable TV news ratings at TVNewser – free registration required.) Millions of Americans rely on the programming of FOX News, imperfect as it may occasionally be, as the only easily accessible mainstream alternative to the tsunami of woke media that comprises the rest of the MSM. Since April 24, the day Carlson’s program was canceled, the programming of the rest of FOX News has remained largely unchanged. Hosts like Mark Levin, Steve Hilton, Laura Ingraham, and Jesse Watters, and shows like Fox & Friends and Fox & Friends First continue to be reliably center-right and covering news (like the Durham Report and the Congressional hearing with the FBI whistleblowers yesterday) that are almost completely unreported and blacked out by the rest of the MSM. FOX News’s Web site is a consistently reliable source of conservative reporting, analysis, and opinion and was recently reported to “dominate news brands including CNN, NY Times in key categories in April.” And yes, it should be remembered that FOX News is an integral and prominent part of the MSM. While Newsmax, OANN, and NewsNation on cable ply their trade, they do not have the reach of FOX News and are not considered part of the mainstream media. Meanwhile, FOX News is carried on every cable and satellite television system in the United States and even in some foreign countries. So, FOX News naysayers, be careful what you wish for. As media industry veteran Bob Just told me when I interviewed him on a national radio show that I was guest hosting in 2021, to paraphrase, if FOX News had not existed since its launch in 1996, it would be a very different world now – and one much for the worse. https://www.americanthinker.co...air_at_fox_news.html "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. In his video, Carlson touched on conspiracy theories for UFOs and 9/11, and he also mentioned the Kennedy Assassination. In none of these things do I see conspiracies but it doesn't matter that Carlson and I disagree on these matters. What's important is that leftists thought they had gotten rid of him, but not only have they not gotten rid of him, the Trump effect is in play, because these dolts are giving Carson wider exposure. So, to you, Tucker Carlson, I say more power to ya. ____________________________________________________ "I am your retribution." - Donald Trump, speech at CPAC, March 4, 2023
