Great candidate for a prong collar and proper two headed leash.

Can you say meth? So many fails: handcuffs and failure to secure the long rifle. Barney Fife rides again.

Am I understanding this correctly? The rifle was stowed in the cage? Who's brilliant idea was that?

So, a good example why seemingly less dangerous females need to be treated the same as a 250 lb male. Tighten the cuffs no matter how much they say it hurts. They'll get over the Wrist bruises, A 5.66 to the chest not so much.

Men fight for liberty and win it with hard knocks. Their children, brought up easy, let it slip away again, poor fools. And their grandchildren are once more slaves.

Any woman should not be treated any different than a man just because they are woman/female... almost any police officer can tell you many stories about women/females that can and have become extremely violent and combative in the blink of the eye and try and use the being a female and should not have been treated that way as a excuse for their behavior..............Now this woman/female in the video needs to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law and sentenced as such and not let off because she is a woman/female ............ drill sgt.

A local case to my home town, in 1985 a deputy was killed. He put a suspect in the back seat of his vehicle; he had a shotgun on a cage mount in the front. The guy was able to walk the shotgun up inch by inch to the top of the cage and was able to pull it through the gap at the headliner.

Deputy was shot in the chest returning to his vehicle.

You don't have to slip cuffs to be dangerous. I haven't tried in a long time, but when I was younger I could easily move my bound hands from behind my back, under my legs to in front of me.

Two of the worst physical fights I was in during my LE career were with 100 pound females. One of those fights took place in the front seat of the patrol car and destroyed most of the equipment in the car.
Women and teenagers are as dangerous as an adult male.
I quit using convention cuffs on women and teens as their smaller wrists allowed them to slip the cuffs. I went with flexcuffs instead.

Through the side glass... Safety glass, like what's on the side windows of vehicles, does basically nothing to impede or deflect bullets (even slower handgun rounds).

Only laminated auto glass, like in the front windshield, causes deflection.

Ditto. Mentally ill females.

The news report states that it was stowed in the front center console. Which she was reportedly somehow able to access from the rear cage.

I'd be interested to learn the cage and rifle storage configuration.

My department didn’t have cages. We put prisoners in the front seat. Rifles or shotguns were in the trunk with the button disabled, you had to have the key.

And several “worst fights” were also with females.

Im just dumbfounded by the officers response. When they are behind the SUV with a gun shot victim and hear additional shots, their response it "what the heck"!!! The one keeps holding his piece of paper and his hakerchief facemask. Drop whatever the F@ is in your hands and get your gun out. They are too worried about notifying dispatch and add an additional items to their hands. They dont even have handsfree mic cords.

I know im monday morning QB'ing here but if you dont learn and call out the mistakes what is the point.

So the guy was shot in the chest with a 5.56? I would of thought things would of played out different for him and the police at that point. The guy seemed more surprised than injured. Did he survive?
