I thought the funniest items were stealing another cat's toy, and the sock...then going back for the matching sock. Hmm, maybe the dryer isn't the only reason for missing socks.

Our indoor cat once stole a cheap Zebra click-button-type ballpoint pen from the kitchen counter. She hid it somewhere only she knew, and gave it back to us, once piece at a time, over the course of a couple of months. Spring, ink cartridge, top, push button, and barrel, all disassembled and returned.
Our outdoor cat brought me a chipmunk she had recently caught/killed one morning. When I didn't take it inside, she sat and ate it right in front of me. An equally disturbing and fascinating thing to watch.
