The Cook County Sheriff’s Department earlier this month acknowledged the steep rise in carjackings, with Sheriff Tom Dart sending letters to major automakers, asking them to collaborate on addressing the crime.

Dart has suggested automakers create a 24/7 hotline for motorists and law enforcement to contact if they need to track a stolen vehicle.

So now it's up to automakers to address the problem?

Setting a precedent? If automakers can be made responsible for bad things that are done with cars, then it only follows that gunmakers should be held responsible for bad things that are done with guns.

I'd actually kind of like to see this happen. Auto makers have deeper pockets than gun makers, so the precedent might be more likely to be in our favor.

Thus the metric system did not really catch on in the States, unless you count the increasing popularity of the nine-millimeter bullet.

Looks like she didn't like IL's restrictive CCW law when it passed either. Did not go far enough to "protect us" whatever that means: https://qctimes.com/news/state...ac-a74c719a1aac.html

Illegal in Illinois to use deadly force to protect property. Illegal to shoot at someone who is no longer a threat. However if you expect the likes of Kim Foxx or any other prosecutor to go after a black democrat in Chicago then you must still believe in Santa!

More importantly, then what is the purpose of LEIN and NCIC?

I don't think such things should be decided on a companies, or individuals resources.

So, the victims that John Wick brutally murdered with a #2 pencil, do they sue Ticonderoga brand, or just everyone that makes #2 pencils?

I'd like to see this and some financial accountability when they do something unconstitutional.
