Could be my location but I have never really have had any issues with any of the delivery services. Sure the weather delays a package a day or two but I normally don't order things that are of an immediate need. I most likely wouldn't even notice a package being several days late if it were not for email notifications.

One thing Ogie apparently fails to understand is when you order something from Amazon, they tell you who the shipper is AND give you a tracking number. Unless I order something large that UPS needs to handle, EVERYTHING to my address is sent USPS.

Just checked Amazon on a few things, and one thing that has been delayed several times now is a new mailbox. Ordered on Dec. 4th, it is apparently still in Nashville and won't arrive until next week now. And yes, tracking shows that USPS has it... Mad

Even when I bought hearing aids out of Orlando (not an Amazon purchase), they shipped DHL, who then immediately handed them off to USPS. It took about 10 days to make the trip up to Huntsville, and I could have easily driven down and got them and be back home before they ever got here! Tracking showed they left Orlando and travelled to just outside Atlanta, then back to Orlando, then back to Atlanta again, then over to Memphis before coming back east to Huntsville. Insanity!

The taxpayers will take it in the shorts. Again. I recently asked forum members if USPS went away if they’d miss it. Most of the replies were in defense of USPS. Until something changes, people love their cheap junk mail.

It’s almost as if they actually believe that the cost is only the price of postage.

My friend took a special assignment in your area, the picture he sent someone was the entire PO parking lot filled with pallets of Amazon parcels. He said he worked till 11pm the first day, haven't heard anymore yet.

It was never intended to be self sustaining. How do you send a piece of mail to Alaska or even on the other side of the country for the price of a stamp? Is the military self sustaining?
How do you compare the post office to the military? The post office takes in money for services. The military? Not hardly.

The military takes in huge amounts of taxpayer money, something the Post Offices does not do.

Not really surprised. Pissed off, but not surprised! Looking directly at the USPS tracking site, all of my delayed orders appear to be stalled locally in the Huntsville area. Mad

I'm getting tired of hearing you defend them. At this point in time, the USPS totally and completely SUCKS!!! No more excuses please!

Yes, the military takes in huge amounts of taxpayer money... and if we get out of NATO and stay out of Europe, it could be reduced.

But, the Post Office is NOT self-sufficient and also takes huge amounts of taxpayer money. It's just not as much as the DOD and they are supposed to be self-sufficient.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

I think you missed the point. I notice that you didn't also quote the remark that I had responded to. Here it is:

"It was important when written but that is one thing that needs to be changed."

It appeared to me that some people would like to make the Constitution a "living, breathing thing, one that "evolves" with modern society. So in my mind, changing or modifying Article I is no different than changing or reinterpreting Article II. Perhaps I was being too subtle for you.

Oh I read you just fine. You’re a statist trying to pretend that you favor the Constitution. In the same sort of fashion that all of a sudden the left is worried sick about “democracy” after years of turning blind eye to abuses, because at the time the right people are being abused.

Oh, and I’m sure it matters not to you, but the REASON I pruned your jibberish is because admin here doesn’t like a bunch of nested quotes.

We all get your point. We just need to shut up and throw money at our government betters. How dare we demand some actual competence.

(Next up, you’ll choose from-)
A- “You hate postal workers”
B- “Well, you work in government (insert straw man comparison here)”
C- “bUT ItS thE cONstUTioN”

Or some combination there of.

Wow!

You got all of that from my previous remarks? You really do have a problem with reading comprehension. Maybe you are the one that has been drinking, not me.

Any idea if he is working the local postal distribution center on Wall Hwy out near the airport? I meant to drive by there after you posted this but was having a really bad day health-wise and didn't make it. May try tomorrow after my morning visit to the neurologist to see if I have a brain...

On a different note, apparently Amazon appears they are screwed by USPS and have started automatically cancelling and refunding all of the delayed orders I had with them! Yikes!!!
