I don’t know anything about Bolsonaro, but I like this part: “He has advocated loosening gun ownership laws”.

“SAO PAULO (AP) — A far-right former army captain who praises Brazil’s military dictatorship took a strong lead in its presidential election Sunday, rallying voters to his promises to rid Latin America’s largest nation of rampant corruption, high crime rates and moral rot.

With 53 percent of returns in, congressman Jair Bolsonaro is leading polls with 49 percent of votes. If he manages more than 50 percent, he will win the presidency outright and avoid a runoff.

He has advocated loosening gun ownership laws so individuals can fight off criminals, giving police a freer hand to use force and restoring “traditional” Brazilian values — though some take issue with his definition of those values…”

Liveleak will get VERY interesting if he wins and implements loosening of gun control for law abiding citizens. Lots of turds will be getting dropped on the sidewalk... flip flops flying in all directions and littering the streets!

If he does not have 50% +1 of the valid votes, there will be a round two in 3 weeks. He will then face only the commie from the workers’ party, who has been in charge for the last 20 years.

Typical MSM spin, but a few interesting bits:

AP Explains: How Brazil’s Bolsonaro used Trump tactics

SAO PAULO (AP) — Long before Sunday’s election that saw Jair Bolsonaro get 46 percent the vote in the first round of the presidential race, many observers flirted with the idea that the far-right congressman was a “tropical” Trump. Bolsonaro, who will now compete in a second round runoff on Oct. 28, presented himself as someone who tells it like it is while promising to dismantle a dysfunctional political system and seeking to capture the imagination of many citizens afraid of losing their place in an increasingly diverse and inclusive society…”

I hope he wins. When it comes to issues the political issue that is the most important is the right to keep and bear arms. It’s the issue I care most about and it drives how I vote. Brazil could really benefit from relaxed gun laws.

His election would be a huge step in the other direction.

There are a lot of people pulling for him, I hope he gets it.

“Who supports Brazil’s far-right Candidate Jair Bolsonaro? …”

Reading this article, it sounds as though damned near everybody supports him.

‘… “How did Donald Trump become president in the United States?” said Carlos Manhanelli, political marketing specialist and chairman of the Brazilian Association of Political Consultants. “It’s basically the same thing. Bolsonaro is speaking to the minds of voters. He isn’t worried about being politically correct.”…”

“Far-right candidate Jair Bolsonaro is heading for a sweeping victory in Brazil's presidential election - exit polls”

Odd that they don’t describe his opponent as “far-left”…

Like President Trump, Bolsonaro will have a lot of deep-state resistance to overcome.

Headlines say he has won.

"Far-right," eh? Seems to me anyone right of Stalin is considered far-right to the media.

When have you ever heard the MSM describe anyone as "far left"? Ever? If Stalin were alive, they would describe him as "progressive." Roll Eyes

When it comes to politics there is ONE issue I care about 100%, the right of the people to keep and bear arms. I’m glad he won. Brazil has issues, maybe letting people defend themselves more effectively and easily will fix some of those issues.

The NYT would probably bill Stalin as a “moderate” these days. I am pleased Bolsonaro won. Self defense is a human right. Plus a Bolsonaro government may make the mouth-breathers in Venezuela nervous. Cool

President Trump tweet:

“Had a very good conversation with the newly elected President of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, who won his race by a substantial margin. We agreed that Brazil and the United States will work closely together on Trade, Military and everything else! Excellent call, wished him congrats!”

I’ve not seen any congratulations from other world leaders.
