Trick or treaters
Last year was my first Halloween here and I had no idea what to expect. I wound up getting a couple dozen kids, which was a dozen and a half more than I ever got living in Portland. So this year I bought 3 boxes of full size candy bars just to be sure I had the bases covered. I still have about half of it left even though for a while I was giving the kids two bars apiece. I had just under two dozen groups of kids totaling maybe 35-40 kids. And yeah, I saved the best stuff (Reeces and Baby Ruths) for myself. I'd have passed them out too if I ran out of other stuff, but as it turned out I didn't have to. Wink

On our street the houses are far apart and only a couple street lights so we never get any trick or treaters. A few blocks away the neighborhoods are hit with kids bussed in. I enjoy the quiet of our street on Halloween.

We had much fewer than last year, but the weather was threatening.

We like seeing the kids.

I bought two bags of candy thinking I wouldn't get many kids. Then when I was out yesterday, I thought I better buy another two...just in case. Well, I got a grand total of zero kids! I really don't need this candy tempting me like this!!! Wink

I live in a neighborhood here in NH. A city of about 13k, with kida are out at 4pm-4:30. Its insane as many kids travel to come and get their sugar fix.
Half of the sugar mongers come from VT to get their fix. I wouldnt mind if it were 10 or 20 kids, but we are regularly at 700 plus kids. Candy isnt cheap and we buy as much as we can afford. I actually laugh at teenager carrying a newborn comes to house for candy. Better than crack I guess!
We ran out before 7pm, shutting the outdoor light off and drawing the blinds.
With the weather being as warm as it was it was an extra busy night!

Halloween is a big deal in our little city. Wednesday night was a "trunk or treat" at the church across the street and they had a big crowd.

Last night we didn't count the kids that came to our porch, but a neighbor did at his and he reported 104. The dispatchers at the courthouse had about the same come in there.

The kids were universally polite and no soaped windowws or TP'd trees like when I was a kid.

Our neighborhood is the major Halloween hot spot here. 15-yrs ago when the area was getting built-up, the neighbors went all out and really decorated their homes, today about a 1/3rd go all-in, another 1/3 will participate but not fully immersed, and the other 1/3 will give out candy but, their decorations are pretty minimal.

Dragged out the Solo fireplace to the driveway, fired-up a nice fire and gave away about 600-pieces of candy and still ran out with another hour of kids coming around.
Mario seemed to be the most popular costume for the boys, and Wednesday Addams was for the girls. Oddly, there was a number of dads dressed up as Deadpool. No Mandalorians, no Guardians of the Galaxy, no Minions this year.

We were slammed with Trick or Treaters. We had them from around 4:00 to around 9:00, probably over 300 kids. I turned the porch light off around 7:00 because we were out of candy.
I was surprised by the number (a guess) of kids and parents, that did not come from our neighborhood (about 40%).

We live on a cul-de-sac and the first year here in this house we didn’t really have many kids, so we just go trick-or-treating with the grandkids. We go dark at our house.

I took the corvette to a Trunk or Treat event and fill a hubcap with candy,
I was the only one that thought of using a hubcap for a candy dish!
