I just ran out of treats and shut down. The only kids that come by are families I know, there’s not many people in the neighborhood with young kids.

I resemble Uncle Fester myself. Cute bunch. We've had maybe 20, but the biggest batch was looking for non perishable food donations. That was cool. They got candy, as I already participate in the program they are collecting for.

We went thru two big bags of candy for the kiddos. All the neighbors sit at the end of the driveway and set up chairs. It’s really like when I was a kid.

Cool thing is most of the parents dress up too.i was Michael Myers this year as I already have the blue coveralls.

We weren't home, so I didn't get a feel for how it was this year.

Stopped by the neighbor so she could see the kids' costumes & she had about 6 pieces of candy left in her bucket.

Conversely, my in laws live 3 miles away & had maybe 20 kids come by, in a neighborhood with a lot more kids than we have.

Good looking crew.

We had a mild weather and a bunch of visitors tonight.

Oh, and we had traditional chili fortified with venison from my son’s first deer.

Good times.

We had eight today. The weather wasn't that great and there are no houses on the other side of the street so that keeps some of them from dead heading after they go down our block.

All of those are really good costumes.

I way overbought candy this year. Likely would have been ok but it was quite windy and threatened rain. I was handing out handfuls at the end.

Lots of decent costumes and some pretty creative. I'm noticing each year more and more kids just walk around with bags with no pretense of a costume collecting candy.

I was at work until after 8 and I have no Idea if anyone stopped by, although the ring camera had no notifications. That being said, I bought full size Reese's to give out and now they are all:

Bought this house 20 years ago. Never had a trick or treater. Driveways are just too far apart. Kids head into town. Better use of their time. Like TS, I do stock a bag of Reese's in the freezer just in case. Smile

Fourth or fifth year with no trick or treaters. Didn't really expect any as there's still a LOT of left overs from the two hurricanes along the sidewalks and roadsides.

Our county is trying to clean it all up, but I'd bet it'll be after Thanksgiving before it's gone, as there's just so darn much of it. Many parents didn't want their kids walking along in the dark and stumbling over a tree limb and I can't blame them.

My two youngest grandsons and their wives and their two sons are due here Tuesday, but we'll have to see what the new system in the tropics does, if anything.

My wife and I live in a community with over 550 homes. We have lived here for over 25 years.
Over the last few years we have seen a decline in the number of kids trick or treating. It had gotten to the point where last year we had less than 6 kids stop by.

This year I asked my wife if she was going to give out anything and she said yes.
Around 6:30 we set up at the end of the drive way and waited. Soon after setting up we started to see kids.
She bought approximately 120 items and by the end of the night, around 8:30, she had given away about 75% of it.

All the kids are on the other side of the neighborhood so they pretty much stay over that way. A neighbor over there always has a party and sets up a spook house for the kids, so parents and kids remain on that side. I’m on the furthest street away, all the way at the end of a cul d sac behind a gate so chances are I don’t see them unless the dog is out and barking at them. In 12 years I think I may have had a half dozen total

We never get any. I always buy candy and then get the joy of eating it myself. This year, my wife caught on to my scam. She refused to get a bunch of candy. Frown

Anyways, there were no trick or treaters.

Living in the country on a mile and a half long dead end road that has all of 10 houses, and a 300+ yard driveway that runs through the woods, surprisingly, we have never had a trick or treaters how up at the door. Roll Eyes
