Piercings other than for earrings - I don’t get it, don’t care about it, don’t wanna know why you do it.

And generally for abnormal hair colors, don’t care either.

But once in awhile, I’ll meet an attractive person, reasonably dressed and otherwise normal looking with unnatural hair coloring. It doesn’t make them unattractive but not really appealing to me either.

Is it rude to ask why they color their hair that color? Not intending to be critical per se but just rather curious.

Similar to an attractive person with nice body and skin getting a noticeable tattoo but I get that tattoos can have meaning. I don’t understand hair color though.

Only way I’d ask was if I was going to complement them on it- then they might offer up why..

Reminds me of the commercial. "We all see it. Don't say it."

Mostly I just walk on these days. I see way too much freaky shit for small town KY.

Why would you care. You know it’s a liberal who didn’t get enough attention as a kid so why give them what they want.

Most people do things like weird piercings, visible tattoo's all over or weird hair color because they're insecure and it gets them attention from others.

Really, everything any individual does is to promote an image of ourselves. Our hair, facial hair, clothing we wear, jewelry etc. Most people want to asymilate for the most part......then there are others that clearly want to be different for the attention it brings (whether good or bad).

Well that's quite an assumption.

The LGS/Indoor range I shoot at is next door to a hairdresser school, so I see weird hair every week.

Saw this sort of thing one day and told my friends that when in the Army I got drunk once, had sex with a peacock and that may be my daughter.

If "not really appealing to me" isn't critical, then I'd hate to see what you do regard as critical.

And, yes: Asking somebody why they color their hair the way they do would be rude. The implication would be you find it unattractive. You have no business offering an unsolicited opinion on the matter.

Sure as hell is.

I walked by a young woman on my way into a Lowe's the other day. Hair was colored blue, starting at the top, gradually transitioning to green at the ends. "Guess you take SPD pretty seriously," I remarked with a smile. "Yup," she replied, likewise with a smile.

Was the coloring outrageous? Sure it was. But it obviously made her happy. Who am I to judge?

vs.

"WTF! Is that a wig?"

BTW, if you're in the grocery/drug store, check out the hair dye display. The "off" colors are on a rack by themselves, and are clearly marked "appropriate for body hair" so carpet/drapes may have a better chance than one might think of being out of the same bottle.

Well that's quite an assumption.

With an accuracy rate of at least 90% not really.
