Background: joined Facebook in 2007 and was an avid user until late last year when I began to realize I was pretty addicted to it, then FB started this bullshit of “jailing” me for increasing lengths of time for the most petty things, all related to being a conservative there. The final straw was a 30-day ban right around mid December of 2020 then how they did Trump.

I decided I needed out and shut it down on January 21st and holy crap wouldn’t you know I’m already happier, more productive and just don’t feel upset all the time after wasting my time arguing with people I’ll never meet.

So, if you are thinking about quitting Fakebook...DO IT! Don’t wait, do it now and get it over with. I missed it for about a week but now do not even miss it and have found other things to occupy my time.

I keep in touch with the people I really care about anyway so it doesn’t even matter if I’m not on there, I’m missing out on NOTHING.

Exactly ... ! I totally quit FB a few years ago and have also been much happier and more productive. Best decision in my life. Real friends from high school, military and work, we still stay in touch with email, texts and phone calls.

The FB police blocked a post where I called a leftist a coward. I couldn’t even post it. It automatically blocked it. They said it violated “community standards” because it was hate speech and didnt make everyone feel welcome. Said leftists told me to go fuck myself and all sorts of other trash. Those comments do not violate community standards and are still up today. I “reported” them and was notified their comments were reviewed and did not violate community standards.

What do you suppose the differences are?

Why participate in that mess? Just do it, quit it.

It’s a source of entertainment. It’s like going to the freak show at the county fair. I don’t spend much time there at all. I don’t post anything of value.

Quit Twitter while your at it too. I clicked on a Don Jr tweet which was fine. After the the typical 2 replies, the relevant tweets posted were all Dem BS starting with Barry the Wonder Putz.

i use it to video chat my grandkids (1,3,5) who don't have cellular service. I gave them old phones with wifi and made them fb accounts so we could communicate.

Glad I never joined facebook. Never joined Twitter, Instagram etc. SIGforum is my social media. I interact with the members here without the need to glorify the value of my life to get likes or whatever it's called.

Never had it, never will, along with any social media outside of a couple of gun forums.

My wife does FB daily, mostly to keep up with the lies and calm people out on them (she’s been in jail enough to add up to a felony or two). Today she shows me the result of her brothers wife complaining about side effects from the Covid second vaccine shot; it is a form letter stating that the vaccine has been extensively tested and is safe. Automatically generated after the negative language about the vaccine was detected. Orwell was spot on.

Yep, no need to support these leftists. Nefflix NFL, Walmart... it goes on.

But we must vote with our wallet. And don't tell me how farcebook is free, cause it only costs your soul. It's a platform for them to control how you feel, and what you believe in.

I left FB last month and signed onto to MeWe, which unfortunately I'm hooked on.

Never joined Bookface so good there. I canceled and deleted my Twitter in early Jan. I did like some of it, but mostly enjoyed Trumps tweets anyway so when he was booted I lost most of my reason for being on it.

I deleted my Facebook account recently. I would have done it earlier, but my shooting range had a closed group that was used it to post info on special events, range maintenance, etc. As soon as they switched to a regular website, my FB account was gone. I was on Facebook for many years but don't miss it one bit. I've never had any other social media accounts like Twitter or they'd be gone too.

I have an account but I haven’t signed on in years. I’ve long since forgotten the password but would think from time to time about going through the PW resurrection process which sends it to an old email account which I also don’t remember the password.

Until this past election cycle. Nah, think I’m good. Don’t miss it, don’t need it, FB is dead to me. Never even considered a Twitter account.

PAsig, is right. I did the same thing following the election. I had grown tired of all the BS and rage creation from Facebook but mostly it’s just a thief of time. It’s been about a month for me and I’ve found that I am working out a hell of a lot more and focusing a lot less on political crap.

I don’t miss it at all. Fuck Zuckerberg and his surveillance/advertising apparatus.

It only controls you if you allow it to control you. I'm on FB everyday. Not to express political views or seek opinions. I do it to keep in touch with friends I don't see much of anymore. I'm on it to keep up with what's new with some of the Tier One firearms trainers like Pannone, Spaulding etc. I don't click on those bullshit little stories designed to sway my opinion or sell me something. It can be a useful tool if you use it for just that. My wife recently hooked up with a high school classmate who she hasn't seen in 40 plus years. She get's a message asking her if she is the former Jane (insert her maiden name here ) from Chicago. They are now re-united all because of FB. I myself became friends with a retired member of the LAPD's SIS Unit who I discovered on FB. I had a few questions about what they did and I wanted the truth. Found him on FB and we now converse on a regular basis. So it can be a useful tool. Just don't let it control you and see it for what it is.

When my mom's sister started yacking her gums over content of our private messaging, I shut my account down. Permanently. The FB name is currently saved, and it is a "good" name for business purposes - a "good" URL, easily identifiable as me. So maybe maybe one day in the future it may be of value. But I recently noticed a younger entrepreneur with whom I wanted to message does not have FB linked to her web page.

As the younger people go, so goes the nation . . .

I too deleted my Facebook acct last month because of the censoring of anything conservative.
