This needs to be fixed. Snowflakes shouldn’t have such power.

“A long-time substitute teacher was told not to come back to his school in Missouri after he thanked students for standing for the Pledge of Allegiance.

Teacher Jim Furkin, 66, thanked students for standing for the pledge but at least one student who did not stand felt singled out and bullied.

It is a school district where school board members stand and recite the pledge at every meeting and where the Parkway South nickname is 'Patriots.'

One student asked to go to the counselor's office, Furkin said. Later a school administrator questioned Furkin about what happened and told him that a student had been 'hurt' by what was said after the pledge…”

I guess I come from a different time.

I shudder to think what the school administration's reaction would have been if I had disrespected the flag, and even worse, the reaction when I got home.

The student that refused to stand for the Pledge, then had the nerve to complain, is a complete pussy and needs his ass kicked. WTF is wrong with these kids?!? I can already envision what his parents are like.

I suspect the student that was "Offended" was most likely a Muslim or some other refugee that came here illegally or transferred here in the dead of night under the Obama disastrous term?
I say, FUCK this student, get over it or get the hell out of our country.
Shame on the school administration as well. They must be liberal, progressive democrats. I'm telling you these democrats are going to sink our country. Wake up people!

Immigrants are normally more anxious to fit in and are more pro America, in my experience. I would guess it was a white leftist.

Could be none of the above. Kids these days (I still have girls in HS and MS) feel this need to be provocative. I blame the media, both mainstream and social.

My first thought was the sub did this all the time and the kid/ punk/ trailer trash just wanted to show other students how to get a teacher fired by deciding to sit this one out.

Now I am sure this is going against the grain here however let me yours this out here; let's say the student had never stood for the pledge (for whatever reason - it's his/her right) and after the pledge the sub bird dogged that kid when thanking the rest of the class. Was the sub being unethical by calling out the kid in front of the rest of the class?

So we have a thread full of people who find this repugnant and reprehensible. But what is being done to oppose it?

Back in my day- This would of been a great learning opportunity. A little history to show how lucky we are to have the freedoms we take for granted. Maybe a veteran visit to tell of his experiences.

Face it with the schools the way they are it's just a matter of time before- "The leftist agenda is implemented democratically". Who will be surprised when it happens?

I was thinking there must be more to this story. Then at the end of the article:

But Fox News reported that in a letter home to parents and staff, the school superintendent said the pledge incident was not the sole factor in Furkin being banned from Parkway South.

‘While we cannot share details of individual personnel matters, we would not recommend that a substitute teacher be restricted from a school simply based on a single isolated incident such as this.

'Several factors, including prior concerns at other schools, would be taken into consideration before making a recommendation.’

Re: ‘Several factors, including prior concerns at other schools, would be taken into consideration before making a recommendation.’

I suspect that the ‘prior concerns’ might’ve been of a similar nature. The snowflakes were out to get him. Whatever the ‘prior concerns’ were, they couldn’t’ve been serious – he wasn’t banned from teaching at other schools in the system.

The student(s) peers need to take care of this problem. Back in the day a good ass-whooping at the very least - with the knowledge that any rebuttal will result in an even MORE severe ass-whooping.

Isolate them - and make them unwelcome at the school. Since the adults refuse to be - time for the other students to step up.
