The GEICO sponsored Defensive Driving online class I took is good for 3 years. $336/year x 3 years = more than $1,000 savings. Not bad for a couple of hours while drinking Lagavulin neat.

Yeah, Amazing that a CDL with a passenger endorsement isn't 'training enough' but 47 mouse clicks works great? Confused

Yep, and to repeat. To get that it was 3 months of class work and behind the wheel training and 16 hours of in service training every year.

I can't get any kind of discount, with my current auto insurance and the one before them.

Kentucky school bus driver training is the most comprehensive in the country. So, a Kentucky school bus driver Class B, with air break, and passenger endorsement doesn't qualify for discount.

Sounds just about right to me. But a few clicks on a computer is A OK.

So..I completed the online course today. It does require a mandatory time on each chapter. It took up about 4 hours of my time. There was a discount code displayed when signing up, so the price was $31.96. They try to sell you and upgraded method of mailing your completion certificate. My discount is $19.64 every 6 months. That increases once my wife take the course to $32.56 every six months. So it is worth it for the savings, and it actually was a good review of safe driving habits and laws. YMMV

State Farm offered me a little device that plugged into the OBD2 port. It monitored and reported speed, acceleration and braking, g forces...

Not a chance.

There is also some sort of online class thingy. I took it. More of a presentation as I don’t think there was a test.
I took it a few years back. Saved me like $12 a month.
They offered me the OBD2 port thingy. I of course said no as I have more important things to plug into my ODB2 port.
She assured me it would not cause rates to go up only down.
Minimum 5% maybe 10%
I said get me to 50% maybe we’ll talk but likely not.

USAA shows me as tapped out on discounts. Unless I do their app that monitors your driving. They’d think I was completely bipolar if I did that. I drive like a grandma when I’m not at work (I rotated my tires Friday and my brakes are at 50%+ with nearly 60,000 miles, and my 50,000 mile tires look like they’ll make it to 65,000).

But I’m usually only going to the real hot calls at work...slightly different driving style lol. They’d probably jack my rate way up the first time I pinged at 110+

Knowing what one is talking about is widely admired but not strictly required here.

Although sometimes distracting, there is often a certain entertainment value to this easy standard.
