Vietnam Veterans have constructed the Jane Fonda Memorial Wall. It's portable and most appropriate placement seems to be at chili festivals.

I was early in my life during the Vietnam war, it was largely over before I was aware of things going on outside of my sandbox. However, there are a lot of veterans in my family from that war, and friends of the family. Her actions did not impact me, but it impacted them and that is enough.

She not only directly caused pain and suffering to befall servicemen and women in South East Asia but also inspired additional hatred here at home causing additional grief to those who served once they returned home. She used her fame to undermine her country, she was a pawn used by General Giap to defeat the US Military in the arena of public opinion.

I have no interest in anything about that woman and for the life of me cannot understand how she achieved any level of fame other than negative.

I read that the movie Barbarella is being redone. My first thought is "Why!?!?!?!" The first was bad enough. CGI couldn't save/improve the cheesy special effects that Mr DeLaurentis was famous for using. But on second thought, I am rooting for it now. Why? Hanoi Jane's biggest fear is not dying, but being forgotten. So if the new Barbarella becomes a hit, that means Hanoi Jane's most famous movie will slip into obscurity.

Unfortunately I don't see it that way. I'm thinking it will be viewed as an homage to the original and give Hanoi Jane more exposure.

As a former soldier, just the sight of her irritates me.

As the nephew to a man who spent two tours there in ‘64-65 and again in 67-68 and came home with half of a stomach from an RPG round into a bunker, I have no feelings of compassion for her at all. Years ago I worked in a photography studio a couple miles from a large VA facility. A woman came in to pick up a photo that we had copied for her. I took the print out of the envelope to make sure it was hers. It was a photo of her years earlier in a Nurse's uniform.

After looking at it I made the mistake of telling her that she bore a resemblance to Jane Fonda.

She looked at me for a few seconds and said "I'm sure that you meant that as a compliment, but I'm a nurse at the VA and can't stand that bitch".
