MacBooks run iOS? I thought they ran Cheetah, Panther, Mount Saint Helens, San Andreas or something.

OK IOS 27 installed, so far, nothing has really changed as far as Text, Email, phone calls, and the screen.

Really haven't delved into the system but for now, everything is working just as it did before, here's a popular video on over 300 upgrades from IOS 27

One feature that came back with iOS 27 is that Safari's bookmarks became easier to access like older versions. I hated Bookmarks in iOS 26.

Just figured out that it is a moot point for me.
My 8th gen iPad will not be able to run 27.

The Playground app is a hoot. You can invent your own pictures in seconds or change existing ones. We were roaring laughing in our family text thread!

So far, both iPhones, both iPads, and Apple Watch, 2 AppleTV’s, and a Mac mini have been upgraded. All seem well so far.

I own an iPhone 12 and have asked AI to explain the CONS of upgrading to iOS27. Concluded that iOS 26 is the end of the line for my phone. Can’t think the limitations due to old hardware are worth running a neutered OS that my nuke my battery doing snall tasks.

I guess in a few weeks we can expect a 27.2 to come out. It was dropped to developers today.

I also upgraded my hardware iPhone 15 Pro to 18 Pro. I’ll have to jog some old photography with the new aperture on this camera.

No issues on 27 with my apps.

Hopefully updates are coming soon. I’m getting frequent audio drops on Apple TV. Could be app or server but didn’t have the issue before 27.

Hmmm…

1st issue I’ve come up against with the upgrade.

Running 27.0, notice my Siri commands took longer to respond than previously, but still worked. Before the update, Siri started timers almost immediately; afterward it took roughly 5–6 seconds but it worked, and once the timer started, it was already showing those 5-6 seconds as passed.

All of a sudden yesterday afternoon started having a problem setting timers via voice command on my Ultra 2 Watch. Saying things like “set a timer” would sometimes return “can’t set timer” or “Timer app/Clock app not available on device.”

Timers still worked normally when started manually in the Timer app. I power-cycled both the iPhone and Watch. Same issue.

Evidently it is a reported issue, I switched from “Siri AI” to “Classic Siri” and problem resolved.

I see there is now a 27.0.1 version, I’ll update in a day or so, go back to Siri AI and see if still an issue. Or since Siri AI is still technically “beta” maybe I will just hold off on it for now.

27 went smooth but the next day my Battery life went to SHIT, about half of normal. This on my 13 pro.

BUT... the next day, and ever since, battery life is noticeably better than before the update!

Yea!

Yea!

This is normal and expected after the update for 24-48 hrs, with that stretching a few more days for some. There is a lot of background indexing going on for all your files including photos, along with Siri and search optimization.

Find My has a new feature that uses a compass to guide you to the device.

I actually found Tabitha in WalMart yesterday with it.
