I know Knot Hardly Dunn and have shot with him and his wife many times. Last year they moved from South Carolina to New Mexico (or AZ). Somewhere way out there.

InusuitNot mine, but I thought Tequila Mockingbird was clever.

submoaWhile not "clever", I chose a character I admired from the JW movie "Angel and the Bad Man" B&W 1947 - the calm, persistent, philosophical...but dangerous, Territorial "Marshal Wistful McClintock" played by Harry Carey, Sr. who ***Spoiler Alert*** guns down the 2 "Heavies"...Laredo Stevens and Hondo Jeffries, in the end saving Quirt Evans (JW)..."the Bad Man", life

signewtA few names I've heard : Willie Shootem, Barry L Plotz, Bad Eye Leftie. There's hundreds of interesting, historical, whimsical, humorous and/or just funny names that add a dimension to the hobby.

I know Will E. Shoot! So many good ones. Whiskey Business is another good one. Warren Peace. Then there are the "Huggnkiss" Triplets: Anita Huggnkiss, Amanda Huggnkiss, and Ivanna Huggnkiss. Suzie Silkknickers was another one I liked. Russ N. Hound and Fox E. Hound.
I actually struggled to choose mine. It was between "Rolan Kraps" or "Col. Batt Guano".

Modern Day SavageHow does it work in CAS...do you pick your own alias or is one "hung" on you by your fellow shooters...like nicknames or fighter pilot call signs?

Given your screen name I'd be a bit concerned about your CAS match costume.

signewtI was advised those that hesitate too long to announce his alias, is likely to have one awarded...

Yes, I've been a forum member long enough to know that. My comment was a little good natured ribbing of the
deux entendre of your screen name ...hence the

wink eye emojicon in my post.

flashguyMDS, I suspected that was the case. However, for anyone who hasn't been here long I though an explanation would be useful.

ArtieSI'd have to be Horst Pucky.

Modern Day SavageIf I was to join I would want to be
Dead Eye Dick...but, alas, it is taken.
What happens when a CAS member quits participating or passes...is their alias retired out of respect (like retiring a sports legend's jersey number), is it willed to a friend or family member, or does the alias become available for another member to use?
Do CAS members ever change aliases?

RustybladeI joined early on in Connecticut-- my badge number was under 1000 and the entire CASS Manual was a single sheet of paper, folded in quarters; 3 of which were the front, table of contents and the back page. Of rules there were the necessaries & common sense was expected.
My name is Paladins' given name...

After someone leaves or passes away, the alias is available again.
Yes, some people DO change aliases.
