My wife and I send our prayers and condolences. We're dog people, too, and have made that same walk to the Rainbow Bridge.

So sorry for your loss, ORC. Despite our own losses, we keep expanding the pack here. Nothing like the unconditional love of a dog...

My sincere condolences. I've lost 3 of my indoor and 2 feral outdoor kitties. I understand I've got some new kittens in my back yard, though.

That's tough. I can understand we don't want anything bad to happen to our pets. Now that we hae a big backyard, I'm afraid to let them out to poop by themselves as there might be a bird that will try to take their 10 pound bodies away. I would hate to have that happen to them.

On the other hand, he gave you the best years of his life. Be grateful and let him rest in peace. Sorry for your loss.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

I’m sorry for your loss. I’m also grateful he found someone who cared enough to try and figure out what was hurting, and took steps to deal with it, however hard it is.

ORC, so sorry for your loss. Even knowing that you did the very best for him doesn’t ease things much. They always leave a hole in one’s heart.
