Seems the reveal is set for Sept 3rd. Based on the Ram 1500 and built in the same factory but with independent rear suspension. 3 row seating. It could be a winner IF it comes in at a competitive price. I found the spy photo with it parked behind a tow truck hilarious. Spy Photos Collecting dust.

Since I spent much of my junior and senior years of high school riding to and from school in a friend's Wagoneer, I hope the new one turns out to be a winner for Jeep. We had a lot of fun with that vehicle. This Wagoneer looks eerily similar to the one my friend had. Even has about the right amount of rust. ![]() ![]() ----------------------------- Guns are awesome because they shoot solid lead freedom. Every man should have several guns. Looks promising. Is it a bad thing that the first thing that came to mind was wondering if I could get the independent rear suspension to fit on my 2004 Dodge truck? Hmmm...

I hope it's not just a re-badged Dodge Durango. The Durango was cool when it was smaller, lighter and still had a V8. The new ones are the size of Ford Expedition or Chevy Tahoe and heavy as lead. There certainly is a place for a big, heavy vehicle like that, I know plenty of people with Expedition who love it; likewise with the Tahoe / Suburban, but those aren't trail vehicles, and the old Wagoneer was pretty good offroad. I'm not trying to be "that guy"... a Wagoneer, particularly a restored Grand Wagoneer in dark blue with a bit of a lift is very much a WANT! of mine. ^^ ![]() The current Durango seems more Explorer/Traverse sized. Also, still available with a V8, though in the performance trim. Don't recall if it's available in a 'normal' trim. The Enemy's gate is down.

That's my point. I'm hoping that the new Wagoneer is more nimble than the current Durango. I'm worried because it's based on a Ram truck chassis. Hopefully it will be a winner for Jeep. ArtieS, did you look at the spy pics? It’s bigger than a Tahoe, not quite as long as a ‘burb.

I did look, but I didn't get a great sense of size from them. Wasn't real impressed with rear departure angle, but that could be partially because of the cloth cladding over it. It is an interesting contrast to the Grand Cherokee in one of the pictures. It's a pretty big beast. As an owner of a 2017 Expedition, which I greatly enjoy, I welcome any real competition in the Expedition/Suburban class. It would improve the breed at a minimum. My 2017 ExP, is a beast with a simple chip. even a Denali's 6.2L V8 can't keep up. The small block is a joke in this class without some type of forced induction.

The current Durango already has a rebadge cousin in the grand cherokee. They are both unibody based vehicles. Then Grand Wagoneer will be much larger and full frame based.

Agreed. The Grand Cherokee and Durango are stable mates. The Grand Wagoner is much larger. TFL has some good previews/reviews just as they did with the raptor killing Ram Rebel TRX and the new Release of the Dakota. 0:01

Something Tahoe sized with the Grand Cherokee's off road ability would be great.

LOL It'll be about a nimble in mall parking lots as a full size truck. No car is as much fun to drive, as any motorcycle is to ride.

Absolutely blew it. Jeep is trying to compete with Cadillac and Lincoln in the full size luxury SUV category. Huh? How does that even make sense? Did they not learn anything from Volkswagen when it tried to make a luxury sedan to compete with the Mercedes and BMW? Sorry, no. Part of owning a luxury vehicle is the marque. When someone spends the extra money on a luxury vehicle, they want the image projection that comes with it. You can't just wrap the driver up in leather seats and wood trim and compete with other luxury brands. Conversely, the Jeep marque projects a certain image. The brand (to me) says that their cars forgo luxury, reliability, and economy for a certain tough aesthetic and off-road capability. It does not project luxury or premium. This car is bound to fail. Also, it's ugly. It's not stately like a Range Rover. It's not muscular like an Escalade. Its not elegant like a Navigator. It's bulbous and bloated and doesn't project the least bit of Jeep capability.

I'm a big Jeep fan. Been very excited about the new Wagoneer. And I've got to tell you - this thing looks like pure garbage. They have really dropped their candy in the sand with this monstrosity.

Great Caesar's ghost. Did you see that full-width LED array near the end of the video? No bloody way do we want a batch of those things coming toward us on the road at night. This "LED bling" design trend has gone too bloody far. ![]() God bless America.
