None of the Islands have Uber or Lyft. The governments ban them to protect the local taxi services and other constituencies. This could change someday but I don't think anytime soon.

I don't know if it's still the case, but drivers rate passengers and passengers rate the drivers. If you're going to rate someone low, say why. Most Uber/Lyft folks expect that you'll be friendly and at least say hello. Perhaps some small talk. Don't be surprised if the driver offers you a bottle of water. Some of the cars as really small. I'm overweight and can't stand the little cars. I'll generally spend the extra and get a midsize. (Haven't use one since this stay at home mess started but I think Uber has 3 levels) Perhaps covered above - you don't pay the driver. When you get to your destination you say good bye. If you want to tip, you do that on the app. If you know someone with the app they might get a referral bonus of some sort if they send you a referral. Use to be, if you got referred on Lyft you got a discount on your first ride. Speak softly and carry a

It's been at least 9 months since I last hailed an Uber or Lyft, and the app is constantly changing, so some of this information might be dated... However, be wary of "surge" pricing. The price for fares change dynamically (within seconds) to respond to supply and demand. If everyone comes out of the same nightclub at 2 am, and everyone turns on the app at the same time, Uber/Lyft will ramp up "surge" pricing to encourage drivers from nearby to converge on your location. The price won't change mid-ride, so you don't have to worry about that. What you DO have to worry about is riding from a quiet part of town into the city center for $15, and then everyone trying to leave all at once at the end of the night and you can't hail a ride for under $60. This happens after sports games at arenas, or near nightclubs and bars at closing time. I'd you get stuck in a popular area during surge pricing, you have two options, go back inside and wait until the demand clears up (which might just take a few minutes as dozens of people all close the app at the same time in disgust at the prices), or walk a few blocks over to somewhere less crowded. Sometimes surge pricing looks really bad because hundreds of people will have the app open all at once just to check the price before deciding to walk home. Other times, like at a bar after new years, you might have to wait like an hour for prices to drop back down.
