I'm looking for a backup battery supply for outages AND/OR something portable for camping. If this can be combined into one unit, great.

What are you using? There seems to be a huge variety as well as price range. My machine is a ResMed Airsense 10 that uses a 90W power adapter.

What CPAP do you have? Most current models have a 12v power adapter available.

What kind of “camping” do you do? Is size/weight an issue?

How many nights use are you looking to get on a charge?

I have a 614wh Rockpals power station I use at home as the power backup to my Resmed Airsense 10 CPAP. If I turn humidifier off, it is good for about 6 nights. Paid $385 for it 2 years ago from Amazon but it is no longer available.

Great deal right now on the Anker Solix 1056wh power bank for $450, less than half price.

I have a Resmed Air Mini “travel” CPAP I take on the road. Very compact, no humidifier and a lower power consumption. For it I bought a CPAP specific battery that is very compact and ok to take on aircraft where larger Lithium power banks are forbidden. It is good for 3-4 nights with the Air Mini.

Very happy with both my solutions, thinking hard about picking up the Anker as well.

I bought this one in July for the very same reason. My only use so far was when I stalled and then flooded the zero turn a good ways from the house. Killed the battery cranking it. I took this down and used it with a battery tender for a couple hours. I was surprised to still have 96% capacity after charging the battery.

^^^^^ this. I use the 12v adapter with a 512ah Anchor battery and have plenty of reserv power left free a 3 day trip.

I camp with my Philips Respironics DreamStation and their Respironics DreamStation DC Power Cord $39.50 - I do Not use the Humidifier while camping and get a full Night on a Used Car Battery. I recharge using a 50W solar Panel. Works great.

I've got the same one, it'll run my laptop most of the night at work. Picked up a car adapter and a solar panel to take camping. The solar panel also comes in handy when I accidentally drain the unit, it will sometimes not like to charge from AC, so you have to sort of jump start it with DC. Just an issue to be aware of. The solar panel keeps up well too, so just for that it's a good investment.

I just got the Jackery 500* a couple of weeks ago. I haven't had the opportunity to use it yet, but my understanding is that it will power my CPAP (Airsense 10) for two or three nights.

* It's currently $284 on Amazon for Black Friday Week.

(Note: Based on my reading, the key to powering a CPAP machine with a battery is to turn off the CPAP's humidifier.)

Pop up camper mostly. Size and weight aren’t much of an issue. 2-3 nights MAX. I like the 12V idea. I have the same model you have.

Out here, the humidifier is needed.

The powerbanks (e.g. jackery and ecoflow) are a great idea for the OP. One of the reasons it's a great idea is the manufacturers are constantly changing DC voltage requirements. Also be great for the OP in event of power outage at home.

I used to be a high-tier frequent flyer and still fly 4 to 6 times per year. It includes international travel and the damn airlines won't let you plug your CPAP into the outlet. They even have the flight attendants waking people up to insure they're on battery power Red Face

I get a new CPAP every 5 years, and the DC voltage requirements have changed every time even if it's same brand. I've had to spend several hundred dollars replacing the CPAP battery pack several times. I had a 19 hour international flight earlier this year and hadn't bought a battery for new CPAP as the damned things have inflated up to $400 to $500. My coworker loaned me his, it worked great (even could do several voltages), and afterwards looked it up on Amazon ($170 normally but $136 for Black Friday). Great option for anybody that needs to fly.

Which airline? I've heard United doesn't allow it but American does.

No idea what kind of power those things need, but a suggestion might be LiFePO batteries from Bioenno (or some other manufacturer) and a small solar panel to charge them up during the day.

I use them for ham radio ops when out camping and they're great. Come in all different sizes too. A little on the spendy side up front though.

Been checked on United and Lufthansa. Been woken up by Delta.

The last 19 years I've lived in either a Star Alliance (eg United) hub or Sky Team (eg Delta) hub. I only made the mistake of flying American once in that time and the bastards managed to turn a domestic flight (ie no CPAP needed) into 1.5 days.

Won’t be enough for camping but a simple computer UPS works great to avoid interruptions with brief outages or flickering.

Have you tried passive humidity? Put water in your chamber but leave humidity set to “0”. Just passing over the water, the air will still pick some up even without the heater running.

If you have to run heater, as low as you can and you should still be good for 1-2 nights o a charge, or if you are able to recharge during the day no issues.

We picked up a Jackery 1000 earlier this year and have used it to supply power to an electric cooler while we were on vacation.

Haven't used it with my CPAP yet, but this is the plan for when we go camping.

Amazon has some great deals on them now.

Ecoflow Delta 2 on Ebay. Around $400 bucks.
Buddy runs Heater, Fridge/freezer and CPAP on his.
We went on a 8 day off road trip and his worked perfect.
I run a River and heater and fridge/freezer have no issues.

Not to hijack, but a heads up to users that buy their own equipment... cpap.com has an impressive sale going on. Just picked up a new Airsense 10 auto for $399 to keep as a spare.
