Just stopped by my favorite BBQ store in St.Louis and saw this monster so I thought you guys might like a picture. The picture doesn’t truly show how massive it is. The lid must weigh 200lbs.

$3699? Does that include the base? Made of gold? NM, I see the base in another $600.
What's the grate diameter on that?

Haha. I didn’t look at the specs but just noticed how massive it was. It looked twice as big as the large Green Egg I used to own. The springs on the lid must be equally massive to help you lift the lid.

I use the place setter, like some of the others and haven't had any issues smoking.

I've read on the eggheadforum that the Kamado Joe divide and conquer system with the split heat divider plates and levels will fit and work in the same size BGE no problem. 'I use half of the heat deflector and cook the steak low and slow on the indirect side, then simply pull it off, get the KJ to searing temp in 10 mins, and throw it back on the direct side without having to screw with moving Hot ceramic and metal grates.

Here's the thread on it:

Here are some of the divide and conquer systems on Amazon

I have a Vision Classic ceramic, which came with a double grid (much like adjustable 2 layer grids available). I use the 13” ceramic from the Ceramic Grill store referenced earlier in this thread as my “place setter” on the lower grid, cook on the top grid for indirect cooking. It’s excellent and has not cracked despite being used over 800 degrees for indirect pizza cooking numerous times (with a separate pizza stone above). Highly recommended if it fits for your grill.

I use an 18" wide, 1/4" thick piece of steel. Smile If you saw it, you'd think it was a steel target.

It was in fact cut out of the tank of a cesspool truck to install a hatch. Ewwwwwww! Big Grin

(about 35 years ago, not recently. lmao)

I like the two piece set that came with my KJoe. Fragile, yes, but the efficiency is perfect for us.
