I hung this ceiling heater from Northern Tool in my two car garage. Up out of the way, has high and low output settings and a thermostat. Comes in choice of sizes.

I got it mostly to keep it acceptably comfortable for my wife as the laundry is in the garage. I keep it set on about 50°.

Of course, it can be turned up if I’m working out there.

It is reasonably quiet and I am happy with its performance.

I have almost the same as cparkd in my 24 x 24 garage. I wouldn't want to use it to maintain 68 degrees all winter but it's very effective for quickly heating up the space. Heat pumps are not good for this.

No car is as much fun to drive, as any motorcycle is to ride.

I will eventually install a DIY Mr. Cool mini-split on the shop. It will be cheaper to operate by far, and electricity, especially heat pump, is way cheaper than any kind of fossil fuel heat, save maybe plumbed NG from the utility. It will also take up no floor space, and pose way less fire risk.

This, clean installs, no gas or propane, it's electric which is a spec, and it will be mounted off the floor out of the way, as a heat pump it will warm the whole room easily since you are in TX and not up north in the cold. Heat Pump Tech has surpassed the problems with super cold outside and warming the dwelling. Then again, you're not in Minnesota..

It probably has an app where you can start it from your LazyBoy recliner and warm the shop up first.

Also not a fire hazard like the plug in ceramic, oil or any other small heater.

Look at Modine Hot Dawg heaters.

I have one in my 30x40x14 shop and it works perfectly.
