FBI knocks on your door
You guys answer your door?

I would never open my door for unexpected company and that goes double for the FBI, unless they scream that they have a warrant and are about to break down the door. After that the only words out of my mouth would be "lawyer, lawyer, lawyer." Even with a lawyer, I'd never speak with them. They are the enemy of this country and its Constitution, but they have more guns and money than I have.

The only thing this may be is we used to call a "knock and advise" visit. It was done when neighbors would constantly complain about on going drug sales occurring at a residence that we were not able to get enough evidence to act on. We said to the occupants that we knew what they were doing and it was only a matter of time before we took action. It often scared off the dopers who relocated their operation elsewhere.
But we never asked them if they knew of anyone else who was doing anything wrong.

They were trying to get the guy to become a paid informant.

Being rude or openly hostile in such an encounter may give you a thrill and a story to embellish for your friends but it's not a good idea. It won't help you in any way. Just stand your ground. If you're outraged or outright angry because you feel you're being harassed, it is to your benefit to control it as much as you can. This is easier said than done, of course.

I’m not trying to be cute or clever. This is the honest truth.

Awhile back I was talking to my brother about the perils of even taking to the FBI. He stated that he would never talk to the FBI without counsel present, even about the weather. My brother happens to be:
.

.
A FBI Special Agent!

The guy in the video should have just politely declined, or even better, not answered the door.

Are we supposed to take this seriously? Do you believe that, or do you expect us to be believe that? Do you honestly think that if the guy were guilty of anything even approaching the wildly exaggerated crimes you suggested, that the FBI would approach him in this manner?

The context of the video is not absent; it is present and clear as day. Any thinking person can see what's going on in that video. The particulars are unnecessary.

Fair enough, and no the wildly exaggerated crimes were for the sake of humor and not meant to be taken seriously. I shouldn’t have tried to be funny while also trying to make my point.

But I have yet to see anything outside this brief clip that gives any reason why the police/feds are there. Without those reasons or context all we have is a little bit of video of a knock and talk interview. And yes, you are likely correct that the feds were there to get this guy to roll, become an informant etc.

I will also add that it is testament to just how far an institution like the FBI has fallen when a quick, couple minute video of something that happens hundreds of times a day, every day is perceived as something nefarious, corrupt, dishonest and such.

Well if it involves Fuck your Buddy Incorporated, it probably is nefarious and corrupt.
They’ve been acting like the Bulgarian secret police for so long, they don’t even remember what the actual rules are.

The only correct response is:

"This is private property. You do not have a valid warrant or permission to be on this property. Leave now, or I will ask this Deputy Sheriff to issue you both trespass notices. Good Bye."

Once they leave, close and lock the door.

The FBI is NEVER on your side.

When the police come to my door, should I step out? Should I stay inside with the door open just enough to talk? In the past I’ve stepped out and walked them to the edge of the property (the public sidewalk in front of my house). They were just asking if my security cameras caught anything suspicious as the vacant house nearby had the copper pipe stolen.

I also want to know do I have to speak with them until they decide to leave or can I just tell them to piss up a rope on the way back to their car?

That’s pretty disgusting. There is no way they weren’t trying to get some sort of entrapping evidence either for leverage or because he was the actual target. The “well you’re known” is an absolute threat regardless of how thinly veiled the smug asshole tried to be about it. The less than zero percent respect I have for the FBI as an institution has been well earned by the politicized leadership. They have moved beyond a finger on the scales of justice and have firmly placed their boot on one side. I am beginning to no longer recognize my country.

My brother in law's sister was a secretary for a guy that came under investigation by the FBI . The FBI knocked on her door one day and told her they had a few questions to ask her about her boss . She told them to please excuse her for just one minute . She stepped back inside and called her neighbor who was an Attorney . She gave her a quick run down and the neighbor told her to say NOTHING and that she would be there in two minutes . Neighbor walked over and introduced herself , told them that her " client " would make an appointment to speak with them in the next few days . They were ok with that and left . Neighbor told her that they are going to question you , might as well do it on your terms .

Why do people feel compelled to talk to the FBI? They can ask all the questions they want while I call the police on them for trespassing. Ain't gonna talk to them with or without a lawyer. Fook them. They need to know how hated they are and that they do not have public support for their Gestapo tactics.
