Ok, I think I'm going to use the Rotozip. I'm afraid the stroke of a jigsaw will hit the metal fixture nailed to the wood. Now to find the right bit. ![]()

You're on the right track, no way would I use a jig saw for this task. Rotozip 1/8 in. Saber Cut Wood Bits (4-Pack)-SC4 - The Home Depot https://www.google.com/url?sa=...PWFPiz6gfH8CnqvKDldL

Rotozip (which I don't own), or a palm router set to the correct depth of cut (which I do own). When in doubt, mumble

Getting to the depth issue... Dremil with a drywall attachment (for depth control) using the above rotozip wood bits. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Rot...CEuC4b8aAq_wEALw_wcB

Did it today. It was as bad as we imagined, and then some. But the rotary dremel tool (Craftsman generic) worked well. Thanks all! ![]()
