If I say all politicians are fake, I feel that’s too simple an answer.

They’re all actors chasing money. They shift and swerve like snakes to cater to those that keep their pockets filled, directly or indirectly.

I am not eloquent enough to argue my point, nor knowledgeable enough to point out facts to support my view. But I still stand by it.

I’m aware enough to know that there may be a small few outliers. But by and large I believe them all to be liars in some way or another.

Yup. I have given up hoping they’ll get things straightened out. Even those who speak my language are only talk. No bad actors ever lose liberty nor assets except for Menendez. He must have upset the lords. If they can’t even pass legislation that 80% of the population wants, what good are they? How did we get 40 trillion in debt?

Hmm. I tend to disagree. I think the old school, country club Republicans were the RINOs; they were are an integral part of the uniparty. They battled the Dems over civil rights long ago, then fell in line to maintain the status quo.

Around here we have establishment Republicans and grass roots Republicans. Each accuses the other of being RINOs.

The supermajority of Congressional critters would be in the poor house if they had to work for a living because they're semi-functional alcoholoics who never possessed skills employers desire. Their three gifts are their ability to speak, their ability to act a role (e.g. MAGA firebrand), and possessing the spine of a jellyfish.

I wager nearly all of the above who claim to be R are RINOs. Their top 4 goals are:
1 - get elected
2 - get re-elected
3 - get a slice of the graft
4 - everything else

I know there are people who were successful in life and took a big pay cut to go to Congress. I'd wager few are RINOs and instead are true believers in conservatism. I really like the ones who DGAF if they get re-elected.

To me, a Republican has to be in favor of:

- adherence to the Constitution (the Second Amendment means exactly that, "Shall Not Be Infringed")
- smaller / limited federal government
- states' rights
- capitalism
- lower taxes
- cutting wasteful spending
- strong national defense
- strict enforcement of immigration laws
- ensuring election integrity (ensuring only citizens can vote)
- protection of the unborn
- eliminating garbage woke social justice policies

So, in one shape or another, they are all RINOs, because they cannot check all the boxes. Some are RINO light, others are RINO heavy, but yes, they're all RINOs. That's my take on it.

Pretty much, you might be able to say across both house's there might be a very small handful.
But it has been obvious to anyone who cared to open their eyes and I have said it since 2015. The repubs hate our President and have done everything to prevent him from trying to save our republic. And he has stood up to them and fought them tooth and nail like nobody else could.
It is much easier to fight your enemies in front of you vs those who are supposed to be with you, that stab you in the back.

In my mind, those that meet that standard are Constitutional Conservatives, and not many/enough Republicans meet that standard.

Not sure exactly how to classify Donald J. Trump, except to say he's redefined the Republican Party, and he's the greatest President of my lifetime!

I dislike party politics. For Dems, it is perpetually allegiance to the party, not to the Republic. I suspect it's the same for Republicans.

My understanding is that among the founders (Washington and Adams in particular), there was a concern that party politics would be a distructive force, and so I think it has been from the beginning.

The problem is we have career politicians, who hold office solely out of self interest and the desire for power. I think that's what differentiates Trump. While he certainly enjoys the power, I believe he is President not out of political, interest or devotion to the Republican Party, but because he truly cares about making America great again.

I realize this is all very idealistic, but we have to do better.

DJT isn’t a politician in the RINO sense of the word. He is a pragmatist that sees a series of problems and sets out to fix them. Some are big and some are small. But none are party line problems.

That’s why he is hated.

I think politicians are pond scum and we would be far better off as a country if most of them were boxed up and sent to a gulag in Alaska.

As I stood still, the world moved left.

When I was a teenager, many moons ago, I would have considered myself a JFK democrat.

Anti communist/socialist.
Strong on defense.
Strong on civil rights.
Lowered the tax brackets from 91% to 65%.
Pro-Second Amendment, lifetime member of the NRA.
Ask what you can do for your country.

LBJ pushed the country left with the cynical attitude: give freebies and they will vote Democrat forever.

Nothing new; bread and circus has been around since the time of Rome.

The RINOs are what remains of the right guard—trying to hold back the left.
Lincoln would not recognize the Republican Party; Kennedy would not recognize the Democratic Party either.

R or D , for the most part, is a moot point it seems (at least to me)

Both parties appear to me to be corrupt. I cant think of any politician I fully trust, local, state or Federal. I wonder about any announced candidates true motives in seeking an elected office.

Once again I'm going to have to point you to the holder of what is now the most expensive seat in congress. a real shame they spent over 30 million dollars to un-seat him.

The system clearly rejects idealists in favor of those who can "play ball". And that just means they are willing to fleece their constituents and erode our liberties while lying to our faces.

I don't know where this country is headed, but looking back, and then looking forward...it's not good if you aren't "in the club".

I despise 99% of the Dem and 90% of the Republicans. They are pretty much all members of George Carlin’s “Big Club”. They care about enriching themselves first and perpetuating the corrupt system second. Sometimes the Republicans will throw the citizen some table scraps. The dems only ever throw the honest citizen the ugly things that go toward societal collapse and authoritarianism.
