Another political cartoonist I always liked was the late Jeff MacNelly, even if it was something I may have had the opposite opinion of, I still found his take on it oftentimes humorous. And he went after both sides equally.

I remember when Doonesbury always showed George W Bush as a vacant space under a hat, with only an asterisk, trying to further the Democrat narrative that a Yale grad with a Harvard MBA was dumb.

I despise that comic, but it would be interesting to know whether Doonesbury is giving similar treatment to the current POTUS, whose mental faculties are, well, let's just say, in a different category altogether.

I recall that back in Law School, several of the more liberal students, sadly including my girlfriend, couldn't wait to read his comic in the daily Mullet Wrapper. I'd look at some of them, and wasn't sure if I was just a bit thick or they weren't funny.

I may have been a little thick, but they simply were not funny. Haven't looked at any more of them in 40 some years.

Oh, and the girlfriend is long gone and happily married to someone else. Me, too, and she's not the least bit of a lib.

Occasionally the football ones would be humorous.

Hoping your political opponents get stabbed is not cool.

I watched the Paul Pelosi video and was sickened. Hearing him snoring after taking a brutal hit to the head was just shitty. People need to put politics aside when it starts to condone horrific acts of violence. This Doonesbury lad whoomst is so smart and full of wizdom should know better.

there was one strip he did that I found funny, something about searching tanks for contriband as they were shipped back after Desert Storm, and the tank was Russian tank, IIRC,

a brother from another mother who was there also found it funny,

otherwise, he is just a whiner,

I always loved Bloom County. I guess you can tell by my avatar. You can still get Bloom County on line.

Yep. Loved Lil Abner & Beetle Bailey as a kid, but then moved on to Bloom County, and Calvin & Hobbs in my 20's or 30's I guess. Dilbert is OK too.

Although mostly now, I just watch memes on YouTube. Terry Soloman has a good run of them almost every day, and he supports vets. Alot of his carry a trigger warning that some may will find them politically incorrect.

During my freshman year of college I lived in on campus dorms. One Saturday morning after some raucous partying The guy three doors down from mine emerged from his domicile super haggard. He literally looked like Bill the cat, complete with one eye bigger than the other. From then on, he was called Bill the cat.

Same.

If someone had asked me ten minutes ago to name every comic strip I can, there is zero chance I’d have named Doonesbury. And I seriously had no idea who Garry Trudeau was or that he wrote Doonesbury. I’d obviously heard of the comic strip before, I’m in my 40s and grew up reading the funny pages, but Doonesbury was so insignificant to me that I’d forgotten about it.

Whatever. Clearly he’s just another hateful violent limousine leftist who almost certainly thinks he’s the open minded one.
