I’m in middle of Santa Rosa county just east of Pensacola. Right in the cross hairs of where they predict landfall tonight. About 8 miles inland so not worried about river surge or flooding at my house. We Put everything that was on the patio that could be launched into the garage or the shed. Just watching storm chasers online. We have a whole house generator.

Stay safe all my gulf coast friends.

FIL is in Pcola right now, and my wife's brother and sister are both in Ft Walton. Her mom is actually up here and was supposed to fly back into Ft Walton airport tomorrow but her flight got cancelled and she's rescheduled for Monday. Hopefully it's not too bad and there's still an airport to land at after it blows through. Stay safe, hoping it's not too bad.

Current models show Ft Walton getting hit much harder than Pcola.

Why I Didn’t buy a house anywhere near the water. Next door neighbors elderly parents are on the bay and they are evacuated and expect to flood.

Bacheloring it at the new place in Hendersonville just as the hurricane is coming in. I'm about 100 feet above any river, creek or stream. Hoping we keep power. Gas tanks are full.

Couple of trees down at my in-laws' house in Pensacola, but they missed the house. BIL in Ft Walton has water seeping in around the windows and doors, but no major damage yet. He said he just now lost power.

It's about 22:00 here in Crestview and I think the worst may be over. We lost power about 20:30. Wife has gone to bed and the boy is playing video games with his bros on his IPad. I told him once the battery runs out them that's it. He doesn't get it but a lesson is coming. I'm posting this on a drawer iPad that has to be over 10 years old. I have a Verizon hotspot and it's working well. My daughter is safe in her dorm at Troy.
I have a brisket in the freezer that I will prep tomorrow and go low and slow to draw the neighborhood out to drool. Hopefully the power will come back tomorrow. If not, I will be feral running through the Eglin test range. A 14 year old beagle can still chase rabbits right?

That's what the donkey says on Old MacDonald's farm. At least the LLMs are thorough.

Generator been running since 7pm Friday. The 100 mph wind gusts were scary. Bunch of trees down and tree debris all over my yard. Power lines down on my street and lost a few shingles. And fence sections down Have spent last 10 hours raking and cleaning my pool and fix. Lots of neighbors came together to help each other including my neigh or the tree guy with a front loader with. Claw to grab tree trunks and set them in a pile for county or somebody to come gather up.

WiFi finally came back on.

Still no power. Lost cell service for hours. Neighbors have been great. My brisket was still frozen so I will postpone a day. Restaurants are open and so I splurged on some Hideaway Pizza. A hidden gem in Crestview.

Glad to hear you guys are ok. My family came though alright. Father-in-law had a couple of trees come down and damage some fence sections, but they missed the house and the A/C unit. The fence should be a pretty easy fix.

SIL in Mary Esther lost some siding, but it's undamaged and still in the yard, so my BIL is going to put it back up for her tomorrow. BIL in Ft. Walton has no damage and said the power even came back on this morning.

I'm close to the Baton Rouge area so I'm no stranger to hurricanes. My first recollection was Hurricane Betsy in 1964. I've rode out every one since then and some were no fun. Glad to hear everybody is slowly getting back to normal. Be safe out there.

They have canceled school for Tuesday here. Tomorrow we celebrate the actual Columbus Day holiday here.

Daughter’s friend has no power since Friday. Came over to stay the night as so grateful to take a hot shower and do some laundry. Can only imagine the mental anguish of a teen girl not being able to shower for 3 days.

Was nice and warm today. Neighbor came over with their front loader and we filled about 15 buckets full of tree debris, not even half done. Another neighbor has a front loader and claw he will come over soon and pick up the ~20 foot section of pine tree that fell in my yard.

Another day of raking and scooping been using muscles in places I didn’t know I had places and I’m sore.

Hey ElToro, Glad you are safe.

There’s a lot more going on in Florida than Livermore.

We have had a late season heat wave with temperatures near 100 last Friday. Today was the mid 70’s.

I hope everything goes well with your cleanup.

Stay safe my friend…

Track loader with a grapple really is a great tool after a hurricane.

Pace yourself. It will take awhile, but things will get cleaned up and return to normal.
