When lefties fail at anything, they get favorable headlines. If these were decent, God loving right wing voters, the headlines would be much different. Something along the lines of "America just announced another billionare".

Oh, wait. I agree with the above poster who said he doesn't give a shit.

Bill is the devil as far as I'm concerned.

I have not followed this couple at all. Don't care at all about them. Know nothing about them as a couple or her. But, I seem to recall, perhaps misguided, a favorable impression of her back when they first married. Seemed like a decent person.

If she was decent and perhaps remained such, maybe she's just tired of Bill's world domination schtick. But then again, she should have tired of it long ago....

I feel bad for the media. Try as they might and certainly will, Roxanne and Peter Pullitzer will always be the benchmark for sordid divorces.

Marriage can get complicated. Probably even moreso when you have F-U money. However, Melinda will never have to worry about her next meal.

Bill Gates may have once been a good businessman. He made it big, which wasn't all his own doing, but it wasn't all dumb luck either. It's what he's done with his money since then that bothers me. Maybe it bothers her too. I don't know.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
-- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Reminds me of the Lewis Grizzard story. Husband and wife haven't been getting along. Husband trying to smooth things over asks her what she wants for her birthday, to which the wife heatedly replies she wants a divorce. Husband says, "Frankly, I wasn't planning on spending that much money."

Some people are too rich to get a divorce. Not Gates. He won't even miss her half.

Yup. You're out there. A distraction from what? Quit seeing conspiracies and schemes everywhere.
