Victim of Life's Circumstances |
https://www.cnbc.com/2019/07/2...ource=twitter%7Cmain It may be a scam but it looks legit. It says my security was breached and I'm eligible for a $125 check. I'll take it. FTA: I may have banked $125 Friday by taking less than a minute to fill out a claim form with Equifax, which has agreed to pay nearly $700 million to settle claims related to a massive data breach at the consumer credit reporting agency in September 2017. My editor at CNBC claimed $125 after I told him about it and he verified he was eligible. He did so by first entering his last name and the last six digits of his Social Security number at this site here: Equifax Claim Verification... ________________________ God spelled backwards is dog

Do you have to give them all your information again for them to lose again? They know who alls shit got breached, they should just mail the checks to us without having to ask. Regards, P.

Looks like I'm all good and wasn't affected. I suppose that's worth more than $125. I'll take it. ~Alan Acta Non Verba NRA Life Member (Patron) God, Family, Guns, Country Men will fight and die to protect women... because women protect everything else. ~Andrew Klavan

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ No loophole. If you were compromised you get free credit monitoring or 125 bucks. Your choice. If your credit was damaged or identity stolen document it. Not really complicated for those good with paperwork. Actually a little better than most lawsuits. No scam here. Will be a bit of a wait, but frankly better than these ammo rebates.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Yeah, but when has that ever happened? It is due dilligence. Pretty standard stuff.

It stated I was eligible for the $125. I will take it also. “There is love in me the likes of which you’ve never seen. There is rage in me the likes of which should never escape." —Mary Shelley, Frankenstein

I'd probably hold off on clicking that link and providing the information. First off, MSNBC? Secondly, the OP provided the link to the article, not that he's a bad actor but I've seen some ugly imposter hacks lately (not accusing you sig friend). Plus, you're entering some key info that is a bit above and beyond normal authentication info that could be put together with other info that's been harvested to produce a full string that could be used for nefarious purposes. Maybe it's all good but I've seen some really good fakes lately that have penetrated very hardened systems. Just a warning.

It says I was affected. When I continue the process to claim $125 it says I have to certify that I have 6 months of continual credit monitoring to claim the money. I don’t. Am I assed out? I’d rather have the $125 than the free monitoring.

Don’t forget to check if your minor children’s info has been breached as well. No money coming for this family. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. Don't forget the 10 hours you spent checking your accounts, changing passwords, and monitoring your accounts for breaches.

It is pretty simple to find the correct site. Check the URL. You are essentially waiving your right to sue if your identity is compromised. You need to think about that issue. I was not compromised but my wife and two kids were. They are taking the free credit monitoring.

My wife and I both qualified for the $125. I have free credit monitoring for life already based upon the OPM hack (federal employee). So I took the check. Just as an aside, shortly after the Chinese did the OPM hack, facebook notified me my FB account was reviewed in a city in China. Guess they thought I was a spy. Boy were they wrong.

I had plenty of cards hacked after the breach - who knows if it would have happened anyway or not. I never paid a dime for the fake charges, but it was a PITA to have to get new cards more often.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Me too. I was just fucking with you. Hence the LOL. I already have free credit monitoring thanks to the hospital and numerous other entities. I have had to replace plenty of cards.
