Your device will be fine without the upgrade. They are simply trying to scare folks into upgrading. One of the oldest tricks in the book for tech companies.

Related to a thread I started, asking about Spectrum phone service, I did switch over to Spectrum and so far so good. When porting the number over, the tech strongly recommended I upgrade my iOS. I did and it's okay. I'm getting used to the slight differences and don't see anything I can't stand yet. Like anything, I guess it takes some getting used to.

Does 26.3 fix the crap of 26.2 or does it just make things worse?

It's the same playbook at each upgrade, isn't it?

I did the latest upgrade, 26.3, this past weekend and haven't noticed any difference so far.

None of us said it wasn’t going to work.
We all said the interface sucks now and is harder to use because of all the liquid glass BS and other stuff

I like the liquid glass look. And Apple will likely refine it going forward.

I'm always amazed at those that exclaim right after they performed the 'upgrade', that they're determined it 'works great, no issues' simply because the device rebooted successfully. I've got ZERO intentions of upgrading to iOS 26 anytime soon! Just sayin'... This message has been edited. Last edited by: nhracecraft,

^^ Sometimes 'I do declare' doesn't REALLY seem appropriate!

Can someone who has not updated their iPad to 26.3 chec out a setting for me?
In settings > privacy and security. At the bottom in the "Security" sun section, is there a "Background Security Improvements" option? If set to automatically allow, it will auto install "security" updates between released updates.
I don’t remember seeing this before and I am wondering if this is new in 26.3 or if I just don’t remember it. It was set to automatically allow which i would never have set it to.
It is possible that I just missed this in the past.

It was added in 26.1 update.

Thanks. I must have missed it. Usually i dig through the setting pretty well after updates to see which, if any, settings get changed by the update.

Well, they probably had the other things pending so it's easier to include them than revert.

Dig a little and you'll usually find the CVE that the update addresses. You don't want to give the black hats info. that they may not already have learned. It's always a race between the attackers and defenders.

My SE2 ran fine before this update. It’s slow as hell now. Guess I’ll be upgrading a few months earlier than planned.

My work iPhone is a 13 and it’s noticeably slower now than before. I have to update when they tell me to so I had no choice with going to iOS 26 like with my personal iPhone which is still running 18.7.2
Don’t like it at all and I put in a a request for a newer phone

SE2 here, too. I'm not doing this update, and glad for the confirmation that this model doesn't like the update.
I really don't want to replace the phone. I like the smaller size, and hate spending money.
