I was thinking he'd serve 23 months. The guy is pretty old. Far cheaper to place him in house arrest with a bracelet.

Perhaps Bill will consume hemlock.

Am I the only one here who gets no sense of justice from all of this? Yes, the man did most or all of the things of which he is accused. Yes, what he did was wrong. Yes, he broke the law.

But this is like the episodes of finding old Nazis who were guards in concentration camps. You see the video of some doddering old 95 year old being wheeled out of a house on a gurney, and yes they're likely guilty and what they did was criminal and wrong, but so much time has passed...

I guess this will anger some of you (please don't lecture me about "never again"), but I am being honest when I say that I get no sense of justice for letting these things that Cosby did go for so many years, and then, a flood of accusations coming out, when all the "heroic women" garnered a bit of courage because of a mob.

Or a good argument for "I'll leave a revolver on the table. You'll know what to do with it." Justice and redemption in one sitting.

Mob justice, for sure. Now they're talking about eliminating the Statute of Limitations, at least for sex crimes, so no matter how badly memories (especially repressed memories) deteriorate, if somebody feels bad, they can take it out on somebody.

Cos came out of this looking like a real sleaze, for sure, but don't tell me that those women didn't know all about the Hollywood reputation for sex and drugs.

I didn't follow this thread closely because I just didn't give a shit about them. Not then, not now.

I stopped expecting Justice in 1995. I may have been naive before then thinking that Justice could be had in this life. But now I don't expect it I don't hope for it and I don't seek it. I believe real Justice comes from whatever comes after this life. To that extent Bill Cosby is closer to Justice than I am as far as I know.

Sorry the word justice is capitalized. I'm voice texting.

So you would not have a problem is some big-shot Hollywood star drugged and raped somebody YOU care about? 'They should have known,' after all. . .

Got it.

Dirtbag cosby is a predator. He used his fame and money to lure women in and DRUG THEM and RAPE them. There can be no excuse for this. Sure, I would have preferred the conviction to come out right after the acts, but better late than never.

He deserves to be locked up for the rest of his miserable life.

Admittedly, I have not followed this case as closely as some others...

But with my current understanding.... There is absolutely zero evidence about anything.

A person simply CANNOT be convicted with ZERO evidence.

Just like the supreme court nonsense gong on right now.... A kangaroo court is till a kangaroo court.

Now, If i'm wrong, then so be it and I'll examine the evidence as i get it.

But decades old stories are not in the slightest... "evidence"

I didn't see evidence, either, but like you I didn't follow it closely. How much real evidence could there be after all these years, anyway?

We're headed back to the Dark Ages.

I haven't followed it closely either, but to me it seems like if enough women accuse a guy of something, that is sufficient for a conviction. It doesn't matter that there is no other evidence. Much like the Salem Witch Trials, if enough people scream loud enough you must be guilty.

This one will live "forever". Or 20-30 years. Roll Eyes The racist trial, no justice for the black man, bunch of white women after his money. On the other hand, there is a history of his sexual predatory behavior. The dates of the alleged incidents have spanned from 1965 to 2008 in ten U.S. states and one Canadian province - wiki

The dude had unlimited 'ludes and date-raped his way through the '70s, the local story goes. He finally gets charged in a highly political atmosphere (evidently it was hard to find a DA who would take him on; he's got virtually unlimited money). He was tried, which ended in a mistrial, then tried again.

The smarmy guy mumbling and stuttering his way through I-Spy in the 1960s used his black privilege to rape women repeatedly. The #MeToo generation had enough.

The local paper's story

Andrew Wyatt, a spokesman for Cosby, accused Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele of falsifying information during the trial.

“This has been the most racist and sexist trial in the history of the United States. Dr. Cosby has been one of the greatest civil rights leaders in the United States over the last 50 years. He has also been one of the greatest educators of men and boys over the last 50 years. This is not pointed out to the jury or allowed in court because the racist and sexist mass media was attacking and denouncing Dr. Cosby whenever his lawyers even hinted there was racist and sexism present,” said Wyatt.

He continued, “All three of the psychologists who testified against Dr. Cosby were white women who make money off of accusing black men of being sexual predators. It is no accident that prosecutor still works so close with anti-black and anti-male activist groups who tried to extort $100 million from Dr. Cosby in 2014 and continues to produce racist and sexist publicity against him through the 35 clients.

“They persecuted Jesus and look what happened.”
Not sure about the last sentence of Cosby's spokesman. That Bill Cosby will become his own religion?

I agree with the above.

Also, I don't trust the media in the least, and I don't trust the #me too movement. As I recall, quaaludes & sex were a big thing in the '80s. I also haven't followed this case closely, but what I have read consisted of one woman and another saying that he gave her a pill, or pills. --And you took it?? WTF??

Cosby sounds like a creep, but that in itself is not a felony.

Yeah, I'm not excusing any assault but you play this game because you want to. I can't muster any sympathy for someone that drinks to passing out or takes drugs at a party and then regrets what they've done. Cosby may be a dirtbag but the "victims" put themselves in that situation.

Why is it "predatory" when a man seeks out women for sex, but it's not "predatory" when a woman seeks out men for money and access?

I know I've said it before, but I've been around plenty of celebrities. There's not a single person who goes anywhere in private with these types not knowing exactly what is going on.

Again, I agree.

Remember when Letterman was screwing all his young interns? Same kind of dirtbag as Cosby. But what are these women doing? Are these men so incredibly handsome and sexy they are irresistible? That's not what it's about. It's about an unspoken-- usually-- quid pro quo.

I also have mixed feelings about Cosby. And no matter what your point of view on the whole mess may be, one thing is clear:
Possibly the worst enemy and greatest threat a man can have is a woman.
Want proof? Look at the SCOTUS mess.
