I need a new memory foam pillow

I've been using the same memory foam pillow for about 4-5 years, but recently I started waking up with neck and shoulder pain, so now I'm looking for something new. I like firm memory foam with cooling gel - I can't sleep on a warm pillow. I've seen some contoured pillows, anyone use one? Or have a recommendation on a good pillow to try?

Ladies and gentlemen, take my advice - pull down your pants and slide on the ice.

I have Ghostbed pillows... both their side sleeper and back sleeper varieties... I recommend them. Both are the "cooling" type...although that particular feature isn't important to me.

You can usually find these on sale, but we take these with us on vacation as we can’t sleep without them. I had one and my wife’s neck hurt and she borrowed mine and I never got it back so I ordered another. We have one in our guest room and everyone who sleeps in there buys one. It sells itself.

You should try a MyPillow

I was skeptical of all the hype until a few years ago when I bought one for myself and my spouse and they are the best pillow I've ever used. This from a guy who used to buy the $100 Tempur-Pedic pillows.

It's basically a pillow filled with cubes or chunks of memory foam and it shifts and molds to your head and neck. They come in different levels of firmness too.

The MyPillow? You should have given yourself a couple days to get accustomed to it. I felt that way the first night too but within a couple days was loving it. It's a completely different animal than a pillow full of feathers or fill or a solid foam pillow.

I’m not one to ask, more than a few times I’ve rolled my jacket up to use as a pillow.

I’m also not one to carry my favorite pillow on a trip, cuz it’s the best.

Yes, I have a soft spot for the ‘my pillow’ guy. After all he’s been through I buy from him if I can. I have his slippers on right now. I’m not even saying they’re ‘the best’, but they work for me.

As a youngster I always liked a feather pillow but as I aged I found I needed something better. I bought a Qutool memory foam pillow. It's not a one solid hunk of foam it's filled with a bunch of thin strips of foam and has a cool side and a heat side. If it's to fat for your comfort it can be adjusted by taking some of the foam strips out. It's excellent for side sleepers. I love mine and sleep much better since I bought mine
