The NJ Legislature unanimously passed the bill to correct this disaster. The Governor will probably sign it tomorrow.

Always bothered me when they would pass stupid laws in CA back in the '90s yet exempt LE. And the bragging from said LE. Pissed me off. I got hassled by local LE one day when coming back from a side job at a local shooting range. Cop got me for a legitimate issue (no front license plate) but as soon as he saw the targets and bucket of reloads on the floorboard that was it. Back up unit, hands behind my back, search of me and the vehicle, and a nice long winded explanation on how they respected ever ones right to own a firearm. As well as the courtesy asking about the gun and Trijicon night sights and what not. So your comfortable asking me about upgrades to firearms and my work at the range, but I'm still in the middle of basically a felony stop? GOTTDAMN. Make up your mind. Am I a dangerouse felong hell bent on conquering the USA with a Glock 19 or just another guy trying to keep food on the table? All over a loaded Glock 19 (the one I carried at the range)in a Range bag in the bed of my truck. I lost count how many police I sold off duty and fun guns to during my time at the range/pro shop. Went home and told the old lady at the time I had enough and was gone in about a year. None for thee, all for me......indeed. Let LE feel the weight of these laws that hobble the rest of the populace. ___________________________________Sigforum - port in the fake news storm.____________Be kind to the Homeless. Nice to see NJ LEO get just the smallest taste of the contempt the legislature has for the average citizen. I am sure an amendment exception for LEO’s will come through eventually. But I hope this event may inpire some NJ LEO types to perhaps not blindly support the Donkey on gun issues in the future.

I call shenanigans. Possession of hollow point ammunition is legal in NJ. https://www.newjerseygunlawyer...munition-new-jersey/ Also, I've know many NYPD over the years I have never heard of any active NYPD being locked up for cutting through Jersey while traveling, on or off duty. _____________________________ 'I'm pretty fly for a white guy'.

Settle down boys. As of yesterday (17th) the NJ legislature rectified the oversight. Now only regular folks are on the hook so to speak. There are certain truisms: don't piss off your waiter, nurse OR the cop that crosses your path... I should be tall and rich too; That ain't gonna happen either

No, not really. HPs are illegal with very few exceptions. At home, at range, going directly to/from range or place of purchase, active duty LE. Not legal for ccw or retired le. Illegal just to have outside home if not covered by exceptions. Hypothetical case: I went to range on Saturday shot a bunch of .22 hps. One of them got stuck in my boot, and then fell out on the floor of my car. Next day while going to grocery store, i get pulled over for tail light out. Cop sees bullet. I now am facing 18 months in prision.
