Also not a good idea to ride with a pilot who's been doing cocaine the night prior... and while flying sees his ex-wife standing in the doorway of the tour bus she just spent the night in.
I'd never read the details of how the accident happened, so thanks for the link. It's an interesting, yet tragic snapshot of the life of band members between shows. Sorry to see you go, Randy.

I saw a documentary where they posited the crash may have been intentional due to jealousies as mentioned by Tailhook 84. Randy's family were of the thought that Randy may have intervened preventing a full on strike on the bus potentially killing everyone on board.
He was also my favorite growing up, him and Angus Young were the ones that got me INTO playing guitar when I was a kid. Always wondered what would have become of his career if he'd lived. Heard in many stories that he was thinking of leaving Ozzy. And it's kind of crazy how there's been a revolving door of great guitarists with Ozzy since then, but noone played like Randy.
Since the early 90's my favorite player has been Dimebag Darrell. Shame he was gone too soon also. Killed onstage on Dec 8, 2004 in Columbus Ohio.

I saw him March 17, 1982 in Atlanta, so his next to last concert, I believe they played Knoxville on the 18th and then heard it on the way to work. He put on a great show. Still have the ticket stub.
