I have used denatured alcohol many times to remove sap. Recently was using it on a car that had a fender recently re-painted. Worked great until I wiped across the pin stripe. Took that section of pinstripe right off. I assume it was not clear coated during the repair. Dammit!

This. I've had good luck with 100% denatured for tree sap, I second the motion. Never use any laquer thinner for decon, that will eat car paint. Lover of the US Constitution Wile E. Coyote School of DIY Disaster

They have tree sap remover in auto parts stores. I wouldn’t use alcohol as it takes your wax off too. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual."
