I was under the impression that airliners tightly control fuel loads and typically only carry enough to get from point A to point B (with some reserve, of course). The video appears to show a whole bunch of fuel in that wing. Seems odd, though I admittedly know little about these things.
The rules are a bit complex, depending on the type of operation. Domestic, overwater, etc. Generally they require landing with an extra 45 minutes of fuel, which could be tens of thousands of pounds in a large airplane like the Airbus in this accident.
If the weather is below certain limits then there must be enough fuel to also go to an alternate airport and still have 45 minutes of fuel. So that could be more tens of thousands of pounds.

That’s more simply said…thanks, fly-sig.
My fleet…we plan a conservative 100 lb. burn per minute.
Typical normal day…landing fuel - between 7,000 and 8,000 lbs…almost 1,200 gallons.
Add an alternate for bad weather, landing fuel at our destination assuming we don’t have to go to the alternate might jump to 10,000 to 12,000 lbs. (almost 1,800 gallons) because we have to carry the fuel load fly-sig outlined above.
