Mine isn’t funny at all, but you’ll have a hard time finding a more beautiful dog.

I don’t have any babies, and heelers aren’t really family dogs. But anytime me and the 4 year old “box”, she defends her in the softest way possible. No doubt she’d tear a new asshole into a real threat.

When my oldest were babies I had my beagle/poodle mix. She was an amazing dog but I never let her get too close to the babies. Call me crazy but I don’t trust any dog with a baby. .0000001 chance I could never live with.

ETA: you can see her change from my avatar to now.

My wife was eating leftover sushi behind me. 30 seconds prior she was sound asleep.

@OttoSig: Glad to hear Jelly is doing better! I can’t think of much worse than watching a dog suffer and struggling to try to figure out how to help him or her.

Max, our now five year old Anatolian guardian dog was funnier than the pup in the OP, on a par with the second pup, but I was lame and was too busy laughing my butt off to video it. Roughly three years ago, when he was new to being a guardian dog and the does were in the middle of kidding, he ended up face to face with three one day old kids on a dirt road. He did the pouncing, bow down thing like the second pup (Husky/Aussie Shepherd?) in front of the three of them, them flew backwards when the closest one mimicked his move. This happened a couple more times (and I was about to fall down laughing), each time with Max inviting the little kid to play, then flying backwards to avoid getting anywhere close to contact before mom came bustling over and intervened. That was when I knew (he was new to us, a refugee from the Paradise fire, a former pet) that he was going to be just fine* and we didn’t need to have any worries about him.

*Over eleven years ago we got a littermate of our prior batch of Anatolian/Pyrenees guardian dogs (who had been a pet for a couple years until the neighbors were ready to lynch the owners (who knew that you couldn’t have a nocturnal breed that is hyper aware of anything happening within 1/4 to 1/2 mile and barks like heck to chase off predators in a rural residential neighborhood? DOH!) who seemed like she was doing just fine until the does started kidding. At that point she started killing the noisy little things. The fellow who was then managing the goats and dogs wanted to kill her right then and there, but it wasn’t her fault she wasn’t raised right. She went to a rescue and likely made someone a fine pet. We finally had to put down her brother, Bear, a little over thirteen years old, last year. Another great video that I failed to get was a few from a previous crop of kids playing king of the mountain on him while he rested in the middle of the day. He was totally chill with it, they were his peeps.

Great videos. Dogs and kids go so well together.

My dog is an asshole. Not at all funny. It comes naturally to him, he doesn't even seem to realize he's such a dick.

I love him. We get along perfect.
