I wonder how much pollution was produced with all the emergency response vehicles coming to his aid. Not to mention he was air lifted by the capital police. It also looks like they discharged several fire extinguishers.

I recall Buddhist monks setting themselves afire in protest in Vietnam several times over the years. Much better than blowing yourself up along with a bunch of innocents as has been the procedure in the Middle East in recent years. Crazy or not, that's commitment.
