Hence the reason I am trying to find it by other avenues as I presume the dealer will be much more than a $70 eBay find. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. Also, check your local Carquest. Their parent company, WorldPac, is a great source for aftermarket production o.e.m. equivalent parts. They will need the part number.

There are much better horn options out there then the one on Hoovie's Maybach. -------------------- I like Sigs and HK's, and maybe Glocks

Do share these options The Maybach 57 just happens to be the best sounding horn I have heard. I am open to others. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. Fast forward to about 6:30 in the video OKCGene posted on the first page. It is a nice deep tone that gets your attention without seeming like an obnoxious asshole like many aftermarket horns. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. The Cadillac horn above is factory. But I prefer Hella Supertones. You might think they sound odd - but they will scare the shit out of other drivers. -------------------- I like Sigs and HK's, and maybe Glocks

I can go for the Cadillac horn. Rock auto has the AC Delco replacement for $25. Wonder if it is the same tone? The Hella horns are too high pitched. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. If we got each other, and that's all we have. I will be your brother, and I'll hold your hand. Dances With Tornados |
For the last couple days I've tried to remember, it's been a long time since I was a service advisor when I was in my young twenties. I seem to recall requests by some people for, I think it was, a 2 note or 3 note horn, to replace the standard factory single note horn. I think the factor was the multi note, sound wise, horn. I seem to recall the 2 note, or maybe more than 2, note horns that parts department could get, and they were OEM, not some aftermarket one. Does it make sense that 2 or 3 horns, each with their own tone, were on one assembly, producing a richer stronger tone? I'm not musically inclined so I don't know how else to say that. I *think* that may be what you are wanting. In the last 12 years I worked for a company that bought cheap cheesy company cars, like Nissan Versas. Crappy little cars with a horn that at best delivered a "meep meep" wimpy sound. Gosh I hated having to drive one of those when I had to. Pathetic little horns. .

The Cadillac may have 3 or more separate horns/tones. But, would probably be easier to source. I've seen people jump in their seats in front of me when I blow the Hella Supertones. They get people's attention. -------------------- I like Sigs and HK's, and maybe Glocks

Get a set of horns off a 50's car. 60's would probably work too. Plenty on Ebay, the problem is most of them for sale haven't been tested. You have to find some that have, or make sure the seller will take them back if they don't. _____________________________________________________ Sliced bread, the greatest thing since the 1911.

^ FWIW.. if you DO try that, make sure you have room first. Horns from the 50's were a lot larger than what comes on cars now. _____________________________________________________ Sliced bread, the greatest thing since the 1911.
