I thought this post was sexual. You know Bessie Smith and her song Kitchen Man.

Provolone and a little mayo is good enough for me, I don't want to cover up a good hard salami taste.

Salami, provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion, oregano, olive oil, wine vinegar drizzle. Needs to be hard crust bread or rolls to hold the dressing in.

When I treat myself to a hard salami sandwich, I add some Genoa slices and mortadella. Put this on rye with course mustard topped with some finely chopped romaine and a generous helping of Mancini peppers and onions. Drizzle with some good olive oil, a splash of white wine vinegar and a healthy shake of Italian seasoning. Delicious!

Ever since I first visited Florence Italy nearly 20-years ago, I've strived to make my sandwiches like what I ate. See video below

My construction-
Bread is a Dutch-crunch or, focaccia. Ciabatta works also.
Olive oil on both sides
Salami layer (I prefer finocchiona)
Sun-dried tomatoes along with some of its oil
Use a spread, I like a Truffle dip spread on the bottom bread, an olive spread or an artichoke spread can be used also.
Arugula (need the astringent/sharp hint to off-set the strong flavors)

I ate a salami sandwich every day for lunch for 6-9 grade.

Mustard, salami & bread.

My family kept me supplied with hard salami, summer sausage, cheese, and canned Danish hams during two tours in Vietnam. I was a popular guy at meal times in the bush when everyone was digging into C-rations for dinner.

Sandwich? Here, have a slice of salami and a piece of cheese to get you through another day.

Onion (thin-sliced), and pepperocini, mayo or EVOO and a "rustic" mustard on sourdough. I will substitute fresh peppers from the garden in season, as well as add a slice of fresh garden tomato if available.
