I think often of the men I served with that were lost in Iraq. I recite the “rouge bouquet” every veteran’s and Memorial Day to remember those who did not return. The poem is unique to the unit I deployed with the Irish fighting 69th.

I had never heard that song or the story. The lyrics tied with the imagery was very powerful.
