After having buckets both with a single hook in the middle and 2 (one toward each end) I prefer the single. The reason is I almost always use a single strap to pull something (sometimes it has to be at a slight angle) and I rather not risk torquing the loader by pulling from just one side. My ideal is three hooks (middle and one in front of each loader arm) the single in the middle for normal pulling but be able to use two straps for hard tugging or to balance say a long object. In all honesty since I got forks and the grapple I can't recall using the hook?

Oh one more suggestion, actually 3 Smile. I found useful to add the bucket level rod, right side grab handle, and the additional air filter element, none of these come stock on an L2501 together only cost maybe $150-$200. I believe the L3301 and L3901 both include them.

I have the 2032R, translated that's 32 hp. Honestly that's more than I need, I'd be happy with 25. At least with Deere at the time, the 25 hp and below idled too high for my liking; but they didn't have the emission equipment either.

Mine's 4 years old and I haven't had any problems except those operator induced. Confused

That's a fair distance to nearest dealer. I trust you have a way of getting it to and from in the event you need repairs?

A brush guard ought to come with tractor equipped with loader. You'll sure enough want one using a grapple.

Yes, I do have tow rigs and trailer to haul my tractor.
The Kubota does have a brush guard. I meant to say a brush screen that attaches to the brush guard.

ridewv, a single hook maybe be the way to go.

One question I have been asking myself is the HST vs the DT. Hydrostatic drive vs manual transmission. The last two tractors I have had both have had the Hydro. So I am well vs on them and know their advantages and limitations. I realize how convenient they are and how the vast majority want it. Knowing that a manual tranny is calling my name. Plowing snow is where a hydro makes the most sense for my application I suppose.

Get a HST unless you are plowing long rows in a field.
Back and forth and frequent turning strongly suggests A HST.
I’ve driven both recently. Comfortable with both but always prefer the HST for its ease of use.
AND it is MUCH Easier to train alternate operators on a HST if needed.

I would never get an L2501 DT because it has a live PTO, when you clutch to stop, shift gears, even just slow down, power is lost to the PTO. I can't imagine trying to use a cutter, or mower with that setup. The clutch does the same with the hydro only you don't have to use it for slowing, reversing, etc. I actually like the foot clutch on the hst because it allows you to gently engage the pto.

Compared to delivery times in midst of covid, that’s excellent.

I think you’ll be very happy with that setup.

Thanks guys, they have a crated L2501 at the dealer with my name on it. Have everything there except the grapple which has been on back order for almost a year. Have some coming in in late August and more later in the fall.

They are busy and the wait is more about getting it on the schedule and then getting to it.

As hot and dry as it is and will be until after labor day I will not need until fall arrives.

So I have not updated since receiving my L2501.
Had it for a little over a month now. Sweet tractor. Has some lights mounted on the top and one rear facing one on the rops. Has the third function hyd. value installed with hyds. upfront. Got the Hst model. No center pto. Just rear.
It should plow snow nice this winter.

So I need grapple info. I decide not to get the Landpride one. The EA attachment wicked root 55" lightweight grapple seems nice but off the charts expensive at $3k delivered.
I am currently looking at the MTL 48" grapple. Half the price. Seems well made. The 48" width concerns me vs the 55". It also weights 350lbs vs the EA at 280lbs which is also a concern.
Both are USA made which is important to me.

I just cannot justify $3k for one.

I know some of you guys have them. I need your advice. Smile
