I usually update every 4 years or so, no rush for me for the phone as I have a 12. My current Apple watch, forget the generation, works well enough for me. Wife likes to keep up and for some reason goes through phones every 2 years or so.

You have to admit that the advances in camera technology in phones seems to have made dedicated cameras obsolete. Point and shoot cameras just don't seem to have much of a use anymore.

I went with the iPhone 14 Pro w/ 256GB. Will be a nice overall upgrade from my iPhone 12 Pro — most looking forward to the much improved battery life and cameras.

Verizon also gave me $800 trade-in for my iPhone 12 Pro, so makes it almost a no brainer.

I chose to buy my iPhone 13 Pro Max directly from Apple so I would be able to update when new models came out. I was always about 2-3 generations behind through my carrier due to introduction timing of new models. It seems it has only been about six to nine months and according to my provider I had one of the first if not the first in town as they had never even seen one when I brought mine in to look at accessories. Am I mistaken or is my old mind playing tricks on me? Anyway I think I will wait for the next gen to emerge before my next upgrade.

Just looked and it has been a year. Still think I will wait for iPhone 15.

Both my wife and I have 11 Pro's and will probably be upgrading to 14 Pro. Both our current phones are still working fine but being 3+ years old the batteries would need replacing soon and they are lacking in some of the latest features. The 14 will bring a top end camera, G5, better faster A16 chip and other advancements as well as the clock reset so to speak on the battery life.

T Mobile's deal is basically the phone at no cost, paid for in installments over 24 months which you pay and then the charge is credited back. If you change carriers, you owe the complete balance on the phone. Their way of insuring you stay with them as the carrier. I have zero issues with T Mobile, have been with them for many years so this is not an issue.

I've got fairly new AirPod Pros I picked up on Amazon's prime day for nearly half of the MSRP so although I like some of the new features, I'll stick with what I've got. They are 1000x better then the Raycon's I had. Same with my watch which is Gen 3. I don't wear it 24/7, just mainly at the gym to track BPM and answer a call without digging my phone out of my bag and if I'll be out and about for extended time.

As far as the China thing... I don't think there's a major cell phone player that doesn't utilize China.

Samsung's phones are made in Vietnam, India, and South Korea.

Sony's phones are made in Japan.

LG's phones are made in South Korea.

(Sony and LG arguably don't qualify as "major cell phone players" these days, but Samsung certainly does... Samsung holds 21% of the global cell phone market share, while Apple only holds 16%.)

ATT made the phone a $100 upgrade. 14 pro 256gb. Would have been a no cost swap but the 12 pro I have is 128gb so I basically paid $100 to get more hard drive. Ordered the ultra watch and the new APP’s. Will sell my watch and a pair of APP’s to offset costs. Phone was $100. APP’s will be about $150 upgrade fee, so it’s just the watch that stings.

Well I stand corrected on the China manufacturing by Samsung. Since I've not kept up on that sort of thing, I googled, the WW market share and what I found is that it appears Apple and Samsung are in a dead heat. 28.15% for Samsung, and 27.49% for Apple. link In the US market, Apple is still king with 48% market share and Samsung at 30%. link

Ordered the new Ultra watch for myself and the 14pro for my wife. I'm always doing something active, can't tell from my chushy physique but always doing something. The battery for the apple watch 6 I have now can barely go 12 hours. Excited to see what the watch has to offer.

I just pre-ordered a 512 GB 14 Pro from Verizon. Charge will be $13.89 for 36 months; list price $1299.

To be delivered 9/20. Trading in my 12 Pro bought 12/20.

My 12 pro is a year old so probably won’t upgrade. Even though I hate the smaller size. I got the 12 pro to fit the built in charging slot in my car but as soon as I put it in a case, it’s too big. I’ll wait for the 15 pro max I guess.
