NY initiates the first step in getting to a full ban on semi-auto firearms...

Link

Yesterday, anti-gun New York legislators introduced a bill designed to COMPLETELY ban the sale of Glock handguns and other semi-automatic pistols.

Their bill, S. 9225, comes under the guise that Glocks, and other semi-automatic “convertible pistols,” can be easily turned into machine-guns through the installation or attachment of a “pistol converter,” more commonly known as a “Glock switch.”

New York state lawmakers are intentionally targeting a major firearms manufacturer and banning the sale of their product because criminals, who don’t obey the law in the first place, could illegally acquire handguns and then illegally alter them further.

Under federal law, machine guns are already heavily regulated items, so what might be the real intention of this law?

It’s obvious: to initiate the framework for a complete ban, and total confiscation of semi-automatic handguns – all made possible through New York’s handgun registry.

This legislation was only introduced yesterday, so it’s important that we move quickly. We won’t stand for these abuses of power, and neither should you.

You know, someone could take a full 5 gallon gas can and modify it. Perhaps by sticking a rag into the open top. They could take a lighter usually used to start the bbq for cooking steaks and use it to set the rag alight. They could toss the whole thing into building.

Since really almost every object could be transformed into an illegal object, really NY needs to outlaw everything, including gas cans, rags, and lighters.

Make it fair, then, and take away all the pistols used by every police agency in the state. (sarcasm)

You say that, but when NJ passed a 10-limit mag cap. EVERY Cop in the state was a felon. It took the morons of Trenton 5 days to pass a carve-out

Of all the things to focus on, as if criminals converting Glocks, or any pistols, into machine guns are a problem.

Well, it is a problem.

...but there are plenty of existing statutes to use to address it.

Perhaps they are looking ahead to when broke-ass states have to stop stoking the gravy train? Maybe they should be banning tar (used in paving roads) and feathers (used to make your pillow soft and fluffy) instead.

I hope NY does it snd that they are zealous asshats about the ban too. This absolutely flies in the face of the “in common usage” aspect of the Heller decision.

Maybe, just maybe this will finally be the instance of USSC getting treated like a cuck that finally gets them to crack down on those non compliant states.

The upcoming 'You Will Switch a Glock' thread will certainly be diminished w/o the participation of members from New Yorkistan!

Would be nice if Glock would pull a Barrett and say no sales to NY Law Enforcement and no service, repair, or sale of replacement parts.

It would certainly impact their business, but it would be great if they did that!

Aw shit.

I read the article twice and still didn't see where it was called 'commonsense' gun legislation.

Game changer! or some other full-o-shit phrase could have been inserted most anywhere.

... and it is the right thing to do. Roll Eyes ...for the chiiildren.

For quite some time now, I've said that California and New York are no longer part of the United States. New York state is socialist and authoritarian. The leaders of New York state no longer recognize the Constitution.

I know more than a few people who live in New York state and none of them like the place anymore.

All gun manufacturers should do this, nobody sell to NY State, or aftermarket to keep them going.

NY would probably like this anyway, to them, pushing out all guns is priority 1.

Yeah I was thinking same thing when I read about this. Glock needs to get out in front of this and make it known that they respect the Constitution and the very second this bill is signed into law there will be no more L/E sales or support of any kind. A bill like this is like a cancer and eventually similar bills will follow in other states.

Assholes. Trying to outdo California. At least CA has better weather.
