Earthquake in North Georgia & Tennessee
I've lived here 50+ years and never felt anything like this one. Lasted about 20-30 seconds and was between a 3.5-4.0.
California people would probably get a laugh over this but it was an eye opener to experience in our part of the world. The dog toys were rolling across the living room floor and lots of shaking.

Felt it briefly down in Dekalb county. Was wondering what the hell that was until I read the news this morning.

Earthquakes are a bit un-nerving. The first one of any amount I took note of here in the Tx Panhandle caught me standing next to a couple of elevator shafts. Man that sounds creepy, I nearly broke out in the runarounds!

No, I’m not going to laugh at you.

The New Madrid MO earthquakes 1811-1812 were very intense.

Serious about crackers.

I was out with the dogs on the gravel road that runs through my property and heard the loud rumble but didn't feel anything. The dogs stopped in their tracks and I heard a lot of barking off in the distance. I kind of feel cheated!

Best regards,

Tom

I have no comment at this time.

I was sitting still enough in north Atlanta to feel it. First quake I ever remember actually feeling.

Shook is pretty good up here in North Georgia.
All of the cockatoos alarmed and it sounded like a helicopter shaking the house.
The dishes rattled a little bit.
Lasted a good 30 seconds or more.

Did the Loma Prieta on the second story of a wood framed office building 60 miles north of the epicenter.

We were rockin' and rollin' and riding the land surfboard.

I think I felt it this morning. I was lying down and it felt like people were walking around the house very heavy-footed for about 5-10 seconds. Nothing like when I went through Loma Prieta, or the numerous other smaller ones I felt in California, but I was still enough to notice it.

I’m just gonna say… the toilet still shakes even if weighted.

I was feeding my mother-in-law's cat here in upstate SC. He had just started his post-meal cleaning and I thought "Is he vibrating the floor just cleaning himself?" Didn't realize it was an earthquake until I heard about if afterward.

I've felt a few either here or in Nashville, but only two so strong. Very interesting.

One of my college roommate's professors told him that Memphis would have a catastrophic earthquake "within 5 years". It was 1987.

Phone's ringing, Dude.

People felt it where I live, about halfway between Charlotte and Asheville. Three hours or so east of the epicenter.

Here's to the sunny slopes of long ago.

I’m not very far from the epicenter and I slept right through it. I have felt a similar one here and it woke me up and had me thinking I was in the Exorcist with the bed shaking and stuff falling off of shelves.

New Madrid is capable of producing an 8.2. That'll get anyone's attention. I felt the Whittier Narrows quake on the 9th floor of an office building at LAX.
