These are not "bullshit technicalities." Those are the basic principles of notice and citation and the responsibility to answer promptly that underlie every single civil lawsuit in the United States. Those rights are strictly protected as important under principles of due process. These are a long way from technicalities. This guy could have showed up years ago and gotten himself off this hook easily. He failed to live by some fairly simple and basic rules that apply in every single civil case, not technicalities. He should have killed the bitch. Not that it would help, but I'm pretty sure he'd feel better. Family law was never designed to be fair. Only to quiet the female. Unhappy ammo seeker

As I've said, a judge once told me the courts do not exist to provide justice, but simply to enforce case law. There is little justice in this situation. At least the law has been satisfied. RB, 'he should have killed the bitch'??? Really??? Let's dial 'er back a notch, turbo. Set your Phasers back to stun. You must not really have been serious. H&K-Guy

It's the guy's fault he did not exercise his right to contest the complaint. It is hardly the first time women have made such accusations. Maternity is a fact, paternity an opinion, until recently. He had every right to appear and defend, and show the claim was false. By not doing so, he was in effect conceding it was true. Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me. When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Yeah I hear that a lot from folks that have never been to jail or had a chance to visit someone. Prisons as a rule tend to be more predictable. You never know how some of these folks with misdemeanors are gonna behave. You better have good social skills, street smarts, and superb situational awareness.

And if he had, and demonstrated that she flat lied and knew he wasn't the father, he could have recovered his costs to prove it. But he didn't. The fish is mute, expressionless. The fish doesn't think because the fish knows everything.

In theory, a woman could file this on each of the 10 guys she was banging at the time and even though only one could be the father, those who fail to respond would be in her debt and the court thinks that is justice? There were times in my life where I couldn't afford to hire a lawyer for something that has nothing to do with me. __________________________________________________________________ Beware the man who has one gun because he probably knows how to use it.

How do they think they're going to collect it? Do they expect him to just write a check? I'm sure he hasn't exactly saved up the money. Maybe he can post-date the check for, say, 10 or 15 years. If they put him in jail he can't earn any money to be garnished.

Not true. Once one is judicially determined to be the father, the rest cannot be and would not be ordered to pay support. Only one father per child. This demonstrates the danger of offering opinions on subjects you don't know much about. The fish is mute, expressionless. The fish doesn't think because the fish knows everything.

I can not, for the life of me understand how some of you are arguing against this guy. He is NOT the father. He shouldn't own a damn thing. The woman should be sent to jail for ruining this man's life by being a whore and a liar.

Actually, its a direct quote from one of my friends. He'd been through all kinds of hell from his druggie ex. She was in the lockup but still getting his child support. He wanted to contest it and try to get custody, but she was smart and misbehaved so she lost all privleges. That included going to the hearing. So he lost again and had to keep paying even though the kid got none of it. The bitches, they be smart. Unhappy ammo seeker

probably a good thing I don't have a cut |
I'm pretty sure it's the woman's fault for lying. What it comes down to for men is they have to be able to afford to pay the lawyers and expenses all the time every time or they're screwed.

Had a soldier show up with a letter from a Hawaiian court. Woman had claimed he was the father of her kid. The letter directed that he get a DNA test and send the results to the court. The court cost was $500, plus the cost of the test. Came down to charging him to prove he was innocent. No, there was no refund. “ The work of destruction is quick, easy and exhilarating; the work of creation is slow, laborious and dull.

Yeah those bitches be smart. Like that quote. If the courts allowed emotional arguments devoid of any logic or rules, the male sex would be in big trouble.
