There shouldn't be a problem with this injector being complete.
I've used them before.
FWIW, yes a single injector is high on a per port basis but they are useful and I assume the delay in a switch is due to features such as layer 2 or 3 and VLAN configurations or other smart features/control.
In planning a network it isn't always wisest to grab the first, cheapest thing as it may or may not fit into the plan.
As a general rule you buy more ports than you think you need as thy will fill up faster than you think.
I don't blame him for thinking it through.

I can't wait for this part of the discussion. I'm looking at switches right now, but I have no clue what I'm looking for or at.

I've got the EnGenius EWS377AP set up and I've simplified the network by trunking VLANs to the access point using the main and guest SSIDs on different VLIDs.
