Hey amals...I wasn't trying to abash you with the quotes. I used them more for a point of emphasis. Wasn't trying to doubt your word or put you on the spot in any way. My apologies if that was your perception. Thanks for the explanation and I have to admit that I ALMOST left my Venza running a couple of times when it was brand new because it ran so quietly. So I get it... Smile

"Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil... Therefore, as tongues of fire lick up straw and as dry grass sinks down in the flames, so their roots will decay and their flowers blow away like dust; for they have rejected the law of the Lord Almighty and spurned the word of the Holy One of Israel." - Isaiah 5:20,24

^^^^^Understood. Wasn't miffed; more mystified I could have done it.

I left our 2018 Avalon idling also by accident. We were with some friends going for an overnighter at Windstar. Parked in the lot, popped the truck so we could unload luggage and then just walked off with it running. About 2-3 hours later I looked out of our hotel window and noticed the running lights were on. Thought that was strange and went down to investigate. Yep there it was idling away. Checked the oil it was fine and no over heating or such. It ran perfectly on the trip back although down about 1/8 on the gas. It was scheduled for the first free Toyota Care oil change in a couple of weeks so I called and got an appointment moved up. All is good.

Men fight for liberty and win it with hard knocks. Their children, brought up easy, let it slip away again, poor fools. And their grandchildren are once more slaves.

High performance cars don't tend to like it, but it was also S. TX in the summer time... (Vipers especially don't like it...)

"Accidentally" does not need to be in quotes; it was accidentatal. I am asking myself the same question of how I could have done that, but I did. I was distracted by an unusual situation as I pulled up at work and didn't turn off the engine immediately. Then gathered my stuff, got out, locked the door, and went inside. Astonishing, I know, but there it is.

I let a 2010 Nissan Frontier with manual tranny idle for 7 hours in the winter. I started it up to thaw in preparation to go meet some friends. I got a text saying the event was canceled so I went to bed totally forgetting that the truck was running. Woke up in the AM for work very confused. The fuel light was on, but that was it. No ill effects to report.

I'm sitting a marked Ford Explorer right now that runs for 12 hours straight 4 nights a week- most of that is idling. Been doing it in this or some other similar vehicle going on 28 years now. You've got nothing to worry about.
