I recently did something practical but also depressing. I traded in my beloved 4x4 TRD Sport Tacoma for a van. I’ve been wondering which is worse, having a van or the fact that I kinda like the minivan. It has lots of space, an incredible ride, comfy seats and it’s much better on gas. Now it just needs rims. Big Grin

Other than the pickup I don't see any vehicle more versatile than the mini van. The other day I transported 8 of my friends to a St.Pats party in comfort. The following day I took the seats out and helped my daughter move some items. I have a 2015 Sienna and love it. Will probably trade it in on another. I'm keeping my man card as I don't define my manhood by the vehicle I drive. Enjoy your mini van.

I can’t understand the disrespect for the minivan.

I had one in France, a Pontiac Transport, about 30 years ago. We drove all over the place with it, very comfortable, roomy, practical. It was a new design then, and even was mistaken for a Lamborgini van at Le Mont St. Michel!

One trip, I had a Plymouth Voyager turbo diesel. This was a terrific ride, with 4 speed manual. I would have bought one if they were offered in the States. Just the ticket for driving there, including the Alps.

For years, we rented a Chrysler Town and Country to take 6 of us plus gear to Grand Canyon on our annual hike. It was perfect for this op.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Put a class III hitch on it, and then install a motorcycle carrier in the hitch.

tatortodd, that is my plan. Apparently you have to cut a slot into the splash guard on the rear to install the better aftermarket hitches. I am going to have to look into it a bit further.

Nicest ride I’ve ever owned was a Toyota Sienna. I too don’t understand the hate. They do people moving very well, and in great comfort.

Knowing what one is talking about is widely admired but not strictly required here.

Oh, yeah...

Don't forget to send off for your complimentary "Stale Goldfish Crackers and Spoiled Milk"-scented air freshener. There should be a coupon included in your minivan's manual. It's mandatory.

Bought a 2000 model year Grand Caravan, thought my life was over...

Found it to be a MOST versatile vehicle!

Used it for field tech work, all parts and supplies readily accessible and I could transport my daughter and her friends to volleyball and all other activities.

Let the naysayers mock as they will, you know the truth. Smile

My wife drives an AWD Toyota Sienna minivan and I have to admit that it is a far more roomy and comfortable ride than either my Tahoe or Audi.
