but if I did this action would make turn that hero worship shit off.

I have stopped watching NBA and NFL games because of this. I used to be a big sports fan. No more.

One would really hope that at a minimum their marketing folks would say it was a bad idea. Not that they care why, just that the metrics would look terrible...

Only reason I continue to watch the NFL is my team, the Packers, remains relatively 'drama free' when compared to the league at large.

If they went down the shitter like some of the others (Falcons, Dolphins, Panthers, etc), I'd be done.

Even so, I watch less and less each year.

Looks like after the Super Bowl, the Falcons had to find a new way to screw the pooch.

The best personification of this was the picture of the two dogs fighting over the MV jersey. Two things were missing from that picture. The dogs should have been rabid pit bulls, and Michael Vick should have been in the jersey.

If I was Roddy White, the other person honored, I'd be pretty pissed to have that shitbag honored at the same time. However, then I read that in 2007 White was fined $10,000 by the NFL for displaying a shirt in support of Michael Vick who was at the time serving his dog fighting prison sentence.

It used to drive me nuts when he came back into the NFL with the Filthydelphia Beagles, and people would say, "he has repaid his debt to society" despite the fact that he was still on probation. Additionally, what other parolee gets permission to go out of town/state 8 times in 4 months?
