Caffeine is a strong addiction. I tried to quit it once, for no reason really. The headaches and angry mood were miserable. My wife handed me the first cup.

Interestingly there was a guy on Joe Rogan (I think) that was saying how basically that people came out of the dark ages because of caffeine. Something like at the time of coffee and chocolate introduction humans made more progress than any time in history.

I've watched a ton of videos on quitting caffeine and most all arrive at the conclusion that there was no benefit.

Here is a short from the video I saw. No embed on it.

Not to bust your bubble, but I gave up caffeine. It was that or no flight physical. I lived on the stuff as an Air Traffic Controller, but it was finally too much for my heart. It was causing PVC's 13% of the time. Yes it took a while, cold Turkey was not the ticket..too painful. And, if I really need to stay awake, 2-3 ounces now and I am wired for hours. I do love tea now. But all decaffeinated or stuff like ginger or cinnamon. Yes I miss it and still love the smell...

Way back in the 1900's I drank Gatorade while working in the Arizona heat.
I was told that I needed it while working out side to keep healthy.

18 quart bottles a week helped me gain 20 lbs. one summer.

I drink the Zero now.

Caffeine is the most widely used drug in the world. Nothing else comes even close. In the United States, more than 90% of adults use it regularly, and, among them, average consumption is more than 200 mg of caffeine per day2—more caffeine than is contained in two 6-ounce cups of coffee or five 12-ounce cans of soft drinks.
